Finish This Part Deux

[source]

My last growing pain was... umm I really don't know. When I'm really out of shape [like right out of college and now] I find that when I stretch certain ways my skin feels like it's stretching. Does that count? And did I just gross you out? Sorry!

I grow and nurture... not much right now. I have a cactus at home but that's about it. No dog, no cat, not even a fish. I want to grow and nurture a family and a garden in the future though. Can I nurture my closet by going shopping? Does that count?
The guilt-free snack I enjoy most... guacamole and veggies. Le Husband makes a killer guac, that is really easy on the macro aspect of our diets. I just dip into with carrots and peppers instead of chips. Man, I do love me some chips&guac though, I'm looking at you summer bbqs.

The best reason to stay up all night... is either a girls night slumber party with wine, girl talk, chick flicks and makeovers. Or a romantic night in with Le Husband [that's all you're going to get ;) ]!

If I were stranded on a desert island, I'd... immediately find my cell phone and call all my friends/family members so they could come party on my island. :)! And I'd live in grass skirt and bikini combo, while cheering life and being happy I didn't have to go to work. Because, clearly my friends would bring me food/shelter/more drinks.

I Never Thought I'd. . .

//Play 'professional' kickball for the past four years. Yes, I travel for kickball tournaments and win money.

//Meet the love of my life and husband on said kickball team.

//Plan a successful wedding in seven months. Most people I know usually plan for a year, but we didn't want to wait that long. WOOHOO for awesome an awesome mama, planner and helpful friends.

//Enjoy mushrooms or dare I say it, broccoli. Thanks husband, I think.

//Still be at my current job. It was supposed to be just a job and not an almost eight year career.

//Consider my sisters my best friends. Growing up we were close, but we fought a ton. Once we all graduated from college though, the bond between us grew stronger and now they are the two most important friends in my life.

//Be fighting a 'weight' and fitness battle with myself. I've always been petite and in shape but the past two years have been tough ones for me and my self esteem.

//Squat 135 pounds and bench 100 pounds.

//Enjoy waking up at 5:00am for morning workouts.

//Love makeup and hair primping as much as I do now. I used to walk out of the house fresh faced and feel fine. Now, I need to grab the foundation, blush, mascara and bronzer. #beingagirlisfunbutwork.

//Meet my soulsisterakaboff via this blog.

//Be obsessed with cooking shows.

//See the day the Caps missed the playoffs. It's been forever since they've played this horrible and as a fan, I'm so not happy about it.

//Buy a Louis Vuitton! Man I love him!

//Want to move to another state.

//Have so many wonderful friendships all created from my blog. I've 'met' some of the best people and love the relationships that have forged because of this lil space.

//Ever be this in love. I'm so blessed to have Le Husband.

//Witness Romo win a Super Bowl...oh wait, he hasn't yet. #comeoncowboys!

I got a {blog} CRUSH on Youuuuuuuuu

Blogging is so awesome.

People who don't blog, don't get it and that's fine with me.

I love blogging, reading blogs and all the joys that come with the Internetz.

What I love the most is the friendships.

The connections, the support and the fun that blogging has
brought into my life is incredible.

I'm so grateful for all the fabulous friendships/connections
I've made so far, and look forward to the ones
yet to be made.

Finding new blogs via my usual blog reads always makes me smile,
so I thought I'd introduce you to my newest group
of blog crushes.

//////////////::://////////::://///////::://///////

JumpingJE
NEW BLOG LOVER!!! Seriously, it's insane. Jessie is 'totes adorbs' and so much fun. The first time we commented on each others blog led to about 203483084 bazillion emails. We've been able to connect on our fitness journey, our inability to NOT take a nap on Friday night's before events and the love of healthy but DELICIOUS tasting food. She's helping me keep accountable when I get frustrated about my body and keeps me laughing too. I'm so glad we are now friends and can't wait till we 'meet' one day!

B ~ Loved Boston
Bianca's blog has become one of my new favorites. Shes funny, smart and has great fashion sense. I really enjoy her fashion posts and the links she posts with them. My wallet on the other hand, not so much haha. As long as the two of us don't talk sports [since I'm a die hard caps fan] I foresee a great blog friendship in the making.

Hope in a Blog
Hope is the sweetest girl in blog land and I love reading her blog. She's such a peach and her blog is so much fun to read. I love how optimistic and happy she is and how she views life. Even though she struggles with Crohn's disease so never seems to complain about her trial in life. She's not shy about posting her love for our Savoir and even though she's newish to the blog world she's got it down pat. Girlfriend is becoming a MRS. in a month and it's been so fun watching her plan her wedding. The glimpses she's given us of her big day are gorgeous and I LOVE her style. Can't wait for her big day!

Meet @ the Barre
Home girl is sassy, funny and pretty much the gif queen. Her post contain some of the best gifs ever. She might be the girl that actually gets me to try Pure Barre, but we will have to see ;)! I'm constantly jealous about her location, Florida, as she posts many an awesome picture of warm weather and sunshine. Amanda is also a bride to be and again, I'm enjoying watching her plan her special day. She's started a new Friday linkup that I'm jazzed about joining and you should too!

babbling brookelyn
Home girl is just...wow! Not only is she HILARIOUS she is also a bad mama jamma athlete. #dapdaprespect. She has some amazingly tough fitness posts and woof are they hard. But, you definitely feel awesome after doing the workouts, so do yourself a favor and check them out. Her posts make me laugh, because she's hysterical and her gif selection is pretty darn amazing.

Who are some of your new blog crushes?

For We Walk by Faith

Last week my BOFF wrote an amazing post. One that really made me think. About faith , about love and about my life. About my nature and how I've become who I am. And about who I want to become as well.

I've never had, nor will I have the faith that Jesus did. The faith He had in His Father. The faith that even though He knew He was going to die, He knew it was for a bigger purpose and that His Father would save Him. Such h u m b l i n g faith .

I know I don't have the faith that Jesus did, but I hold strong to my faith. I fully believe in Jesus and that He is the way to everlasting life outside of this earthly world. I have faith that God loves me, no matter what, and that no matter how many times I turn away from Him, He will always welcome me back. I have faith that He will protect those near and dear to me and bless them.

[source]
This faith has helped me live my life as an optimist. I don't 'worry' like many people do. I mean, yes, I do worry, but usually it's about the stupid stuff. How I'll respond to someone in an argument that 'might' happen or what I will say if an ex makes a random appearance somewhere. Those are the random things I find myself worrying about, which is stupid, but it's also very minor. Airplane, well that's a whole other beast ;)!

I truly believe I'm not as big of a worrier because I have faith that it will work out. I didn't worry about the weather on my wedding day, because I knew if we had rain in the forecast we'd be okay. I don't worry about where our first home will be, because I know wherever it is, that will be the right place for us. I am not someone that looks for the bad in a sistuation, I trust and have faith that the good will come to light.

I have faith in humanity. Yes, the world is a dark, scary place at times, but it's also made up of beautiful and wonderful people. I have faith that people won't try to cheat me or try to ruin my day. I have faith that no matter how hard things may get, better days are coming around. faith that justice will be served to those that try to hurt others. Faith that even though I have a stressful day, God has granted me blessings I didn't even take the time to see.

Don't think I kid myself and think that life is all roses, because I know it isn't. I've suffered my share of hardships, had my own fights with God and lost a bit of my faith at times. Life has drama and heartaches, and they often suck for a long time. But, faith says 'hold on for the better' and 'the sun shines brightest after the rain'. So have faith sweet friends of mine. Where ever you are in life, have just a lil faith.

A Beautiful Sunday of Joy

Morning friends, happy Monday.

I hope you had a wonderful weekend.

We had a lovely one over here in pink land,
celebrating our Risen Lord.

Easter is one of my favorite holidays
and this was one of my favorite Easters.

It was a beautiful, sunny day and service was amazing.

We had amazing music, an incredible sermon and
I was able to share it with those I care about most.
Nothing makes me happier than hearing the trumpets
and timpani for the first bars of
::Christ Our Lord Is Risen Today::

I honestly don't know how or why you would want to be
anywhere else on Easter Sunday.

After service we had the normal photoshoot by the living cross,
before heading home for a fabulous Easter lunch.

Of course, an out take.

[Can I just say how much I'm loving my wedding flowers?
I've rocked them at another one an now enjoy
wearing them as an accent.]

Dinner was wonderful and dessert was amazing.

We then spent the rest of the day watching playoff hockey
and the Thomas Crown Affair.

Oh and stuffing ourselves silly on chocolate, oops.

It was a wonderful Sunday, one for the books indeed.

How was your weekend?

He Is Risen...

HE

IS

RISEN

INDEED!

THE TOMB IS EMPTY!
Wishing you and yours a very happy EASTER!

April 18, 2014

It May Be Friday...

...but Sunday's coming.

But, before we can celebrate the Ressurection.

Before we see the joy of the empty tomb,
we must experience the death.
Today we journey to the cross.

The day turns to night at 3pm.

Today, our world is filled with darkness.

 Today we do not celebrate.

Today we remember.

We remember the sacrifice made,
so that we may have eternal life.

My Father let this cup pass from me.
Yet not my will oh Lord,
yet not my will oh Lord

And then they broke his body.
Poured out his life, put him to death
TO RISE AGAIN!"

Whatever your beliefs, I wish you and yours
a blessed Good Friday.

Five Four Three Two One

Sometimes, when I'm feeling low on creativity, I'll troll my drafts.

Looking for random posts I started, but never finished.

I'll randomly find posts that make no sense, that are just rants
or actually have a point but were never quite complete.

Today I'm sharing one that's been in drafts for awhile.

Regrettably I can't remember where I found the prompt
[apologies], so understand I am NOT taking credit
for the idea behind this post.

I hope you enjoy some random nuggets.

And Carlton.

Five things I'm looking forward to.
1] Kickball tournament in Austin, Texas. I can't wait to play in our first tournament as OSC, visit a new city and have a blasty with my sissys and Le Husband.
2] Seeing my BOFF in Austin. Twice in one month, pinch me please. #noreallydon't.
3] SUMMER!!! [bringtheheatandgoodbyeallergies]
4] Family Vacation
5] Finding a new place to live.

Four things you  might not know about me.
1] I was a tour guide at my college and I LOVED IT.
2] I've never seen the movies The Patriot, The Godfather or The Matrix
3] I wanted to be a marine biologist until high school.
4] Even though I love pink, I am NOT a fan of pink sports paraphanalia. Gimme a jersey in the team's colors, not a pink one please. The only time I enjoy pink sports is when it's for a cause. Otherwise, EWW!

Three shows enjoy watching.
1] Downton Abbey
2] NCIS
3] Elementary

Two things that frustrate me.
1] Allergies. #canigetawitness
2] Getting older, #boocard

One of my favorite words:
1] Fetch. Yes, I know it's not a real word, but I love it and I say it often. It's totally going to happen, no matter what Regina George thinks.

Got to love their FREE DRINK on your birthday perk.
The one and only time I order a Venti.

Epic

That is the only word to describe this past weekend.

I finally, after 2+ years of friendship, emails, texts and calls, met my BOFF.

In person.

YES! This is real life!

Friday night was my birthday party, which entailed dinner and drinks
with some amazing friends and family.

We ate at one of my favorite tapas restaurants
and enjoyed fabulous sangria with our delicious food.

All day Friday I was texting with Lynn.

Anxiously awaiting our meet cute ;)!

Yes, I'm a nerd, but ummm hello, she's my BOFF!

We had just been seated at dinner and I got the text
she was at the restaurant, so I ran down the stairs
and proceeded to be that girl that squealed
and hugged her friend.

Lynn was here!
YAY!
BOFF!!
Girlfriend fit RIGHT in with my friends and family.
We had so much fun chatting and catching up.
She is JUST how I imagined.
Sweet as sugar and twice as nice.
It was sooooooooo wonderful having her there
to celebrate my birthday.

After dinner, Lynn headed back to her hotel and the party moved to bar right down the street. A bunch of my kickball friends were waiting there to celebrate with me. And boy did we celebrate.

The band was really good and it was fun to hang with my friends
and of course, the sissy boos.
Such a lucky big sister!

Soon it was time for bed, and man was I tired.
Sadly, we were up pretty early for kickball practice,
which was needed, but woof I was hurting.

I grabbed Lynn after practice for a quick lunch
and then we finished getting ready at my apartment.

It was kind of surreal being on the other side, for my first wedding
since becoming a Mrs.
I have to admit, a bit of nostalgia washed over me when the vows
were said. Yes, I'm a mush ball, but hey, that's me.

After the ceremony, we all headed over to a friend's place,
to have some drinks and snacks while we waited
for the cocktail hour to start.
Then it was time to head to the reception for
free drinks and party time ;)!

We were all seated together at the best table, lucky 13.
It was fun talking to the other peeps at the table
and celebrating the night away.

I even got Le Husband out on the dance floor,
SAAAAAAAAY WHAT!?!?
Someone didn't want his picture taken ;)
LOVE!!!
So much fun together!
Sunday morning I woke up, got ready for church and drove to pick up Lynn. We were a bit early so we enjoyed a latte before the service started.

Palm Sunday is always a fun and celebratory one at my church and it was great sharing the service
Lynn. #palmwavingchamps

When service was over, we went to brunch with my parents. After some delicious food and great conversation it was time for me to take her to the airport, WAH! It just felt waaaaay too soon.

Once Lynn was at the airport, I drove home and finally took the nap I'd been craving all weekend. It was glorious, if not a tad too short. Next it was weekend prep for the week…[BIRTHDAY WEEK]…and errand running before soccer.

Normally I'd be all, wah it's Monday, but tonight is my
BIRTHDAY DINNER celebration, since family is
busy on my actual birthday [tomorrow].

Bring me allll the HIBACHI!!!!

LYNN! It was so fabulous to meet you, finally! I had a great time celebrating my birthday with you and celebrating Palm Sunday with you, too. I can't wait to see you again soon. You are an amazing lady and I love y'all to pieces. #BOFF

Hope y'all had a wonderful weekend too. Make today awesome.

Ps.com:  TOMORROW'S MY BDAY! WEEEEE
