You'll Probably Find This Boring {Confessions}

I confess. . .

|| earlier this week I lit three candles and could only find two of the matches. Clearly the missing one hasn't caused any damage, but for the LIFE of me I can't find the one match. #whereismybrain

|| I don't beleive my birthday is in less than a month, holy cow!

|| twice this week I've looked at my alarm when it went off and pushed it out 45 minutes. #oops

|| we are not doing anything to celebrate St. Patrick's day. Did I mention I married into an 100% Irish family? Don't worry, I'll still rock the green. #donteventhingofpinchingme

|| going to the dentist [and the doctor] turns me into the biggest baby. I had to get a filling redone and every time I heard the drill I cringed. #onebadexperiencehastaintedmeforlife

|| there was a mild freak out about our move this week. By me. Very short. But it happened.

|| after eating INSANELY healthy and clean this week I wiped it out with two bowls of cereal and two munckins that were hanging around my parents house. #whathappenedtomyselfcontrol

|| these confessions are quite dull and boring. #sorryfriends

|| I didn't tell Le Husband what I ate because I didn't want him to judge me. #hethreatenedtocallmymom

|| my teeth need to be whitened but I'm not having success with the whitening strips [they also feel gross]. Without breaking the bank I need your tips for a brighter, better smile. #pleaseandthankyou

|| I have too much stuff. #theend

FLIPPING RIDICULOUS!

I hadn't planned to blog today. It seems Thursdays are my lightest reader days and when life is busy I don't wanna stress. However, what happened yesterday cannot go unnotice.

If you've been reading here for a few weeks to a few years you get my personality. You understand I'm a glass half full kind of girl and I 99% of the time look for the silver lining and find the joy in life. I rarely come here to complain or vent because life happens and no one wants to read a blog by a constant complaining Carrie.

Bad traffic and unpreparedness brings out the complainer in me and I can't hold my tongue. I live in the Nornthern VA area, right outside DC and there is a "huge" blizzard headed our way this weekend. Everyone has been talking about it all week and people are freaking out and planning for an apocalypse at the stores [for the loooooooooooove] so you'd THINK the area would be prepared for one measly inch of snow.

OHHHHHHHHH NO! THIS was what our roads looked like last night after a dusting to an inch because VDOT and other transportation companies did not PREPARE the roads.
It took me 45 minutes to drive four miles from my gym to my apartment. I saw six accidents on roads and I barely drove above 15 miles an hour to keep my lil coupe from spinning out. I also had to park three blocks from my apartment because there was a bus stuck on one hill and a car spun out on another. It worked out for the best because I parked on a flat road and didn't get stuck.

What in the world, DC? I don't understand not being prepared. But don't worry, schools are out this morning so teachers everywhere are bragging rejoicing and I saw a few kids already playing in the snow. I had a 45 minute commute to work this morning, which is okay since I slept in an extra hour because I WAS NOT dealing with early morning drama on the roads. Sassy looked pretty in the snow though.

And I got to rock my new Sorels to work which is fun.
Hi SNOW!
Oh and for those asking, checkout my white hat. Please don't mind the lack of makeup, it was early.

So, yeah. That's my post today. Sorry if it's a downer and a rant, but that's where I am. Hopefully today will be easy peasy on the way home and I'll rock my 5pm class at the gym. Thankfully I've been allowed to work from home on Friday and Monday already so that will be nice this weekend. I hope YOUR Thursday is awesome! Stay warm and stay safe!

Buzz Your Girlfriend... WOOF || AKA Holiday Confessions ||

[source]
... I dropped the ball in a gift giving situation and I'm extremely mad at myself.

... last week when Le Husband and I were cooking dinner I randomly pretended we were taping our cooking show and wouldn't you know, Le Husband decided to play along. Y'all, it was HYSTERICAL! Part of me thinks we would be amazing on TV and part of me thinks we'd be a disaster. Maybe I can talk him into filming one for the blog ;)!

... this commercial makes me laugh more than it should. I may have started yelling 'GLENN from the mail room' at Le Husband randomly and he may laugh at me or just roll his eyes. #illletyouguess

... I almost jumped through my computer screen to strangle someone at work on Monday. Homegirl was sending me a separate email regarding each individual question/issue she had about something. You're kidding, right?! I, not so kindly, responded to the THIRD email saying work would be faster if she gave me a comprehensive list. #myjobgivesmemoneysobegrateful

... I think I made a mistake with my Christmas cards. One of my favorite Christmas verses is Isaiah 9:6 so I included the words "For unto us a child is born, to us a son is given and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace" with the verse. Well, I've now had multiple people ask me if I was being cute in announcing a pregnancy. Um, I'm sorry, what?!?! 1] Do people really think I would equal my child's birth to Christ's {if anyone thinks yes, please just unfollow me now, because you clearly have NO IDEA who I am} and 2] If I were to announce wouldn't I ACTUALLY announce? Call me crazy, but a lil bit of joy has been squelched with my cards and I'm honestly pretty bummed about it all.

... after participating three rounds of Whole30 this year [check em out here, here and here] I find my body no longer enjoys all the holiday latte, macchiatto or brulee drinks. Tragic, I know. My Starbucks order now is either a Misto or plain coffee. #sonothollyjolly

... when people have a linkup and don't have a post the day of they get the biggest eye roll. Look, I get it if it happens once or twice because of life, obviously REAL LIFE is more important than blogging. But, I don't understand not using scheduling JUST to put the LINKY up for other bloggers or reaching out and asking for a more consistent cohost. #notthatbigadealbutannoying #amItheonlyonethinkingthis

... I love holiday music and often play it year round when I need a serious pick me up, but I save THIS song for Christmas time and Christmas time only. Why do I love it so? I 100% believe it has to do with the ridiculous 1985 skiing outfits in the music video. If you're feeling down, play it, I promise you'll feel better.

Somedays You Just Gotta Say It's Okay

\\To have a bad picture//
\\\To wear the same jeans, four days in one week.

\\\To leave the clean laundry in the basket for a day... or two.

\\\When you're driving home and you use every curse known to man.

\\\That you threw your travel mug after your coffee spilled. #ellostarbucks.

\\\To roll your eyes at people grasping at straws to feel superior.

\\\To reset the alarm in the morning and enjoy 45 more minutes of sleep. When the boss is away... the mice will get extra time in bed.

\\\When you're all talked out and ignore texts, calls and emails.

\\\To go over someone's head to get the job done.

\\\Not to want to cuddle, sometimes you just want space.

\\\To turn down an invitation because you just wan to veg out at home.

\\\To look in the fridge at your healthy lunch, and then go out and buy something different.

\\\When an idea doesn't work out, to scrape it and start all over.

Confessions of a Soccer Player

I'm doing things a bit different here today. I'm still confessing, because duh, I just love Kathy and her confession linkup. But, instead of confessing random things, I'm confessing about being a college soccer player. Why you ask?

My college coach sent out a Facebook message earlier this week, asking alumni to write a letter to the current team as they begin their preseason. UGH, that's the worst word ever. I dreaded August when I was in college, because it meant three-a-days in the hot humid weather and the Cooper test, nightmares, mini-mares, deck of cards and the Dairy Queen run. WOOF, just thinking about it makes me break out in a sweat.

So as I was writing my letter to the girls, it got me thinking about my life as a college athlete and the many things I miss and don't miss. So today, I'm confessing, soccer girl style.

I confess… I don't miss the first practice back from summer break. No matter how much work I put in during the summer, I still felt so out of shape the first few weeks.
[source]
I confess… I've had more ball imprints on my body than I care to count. Let me tell you, they look super hot when wearing a bathing suit or a dress, ow ow!
[source]
I confess… I do not miss three a days plus stairs.

I confess… soccer tan lines were my life in the summer.

I confess… I've done this routine many, many a time.

I confess… I big part of me still wishes I were a college athlete. I miss my team, my college body, the winning and the shenanigans.

I confess… I'm mad I didn't think to make this video.

Happy hump day, kit kats!

Gonna Confess It Up on My Blog

Happy hump day, kids! Let's start confessing, shall we?!?! *whatupkathy*

I confess… Blogging isn't always on my radar. I used to stress about having a post for everyday, but now, eh! I mean, I love y'all, but real life takes precedent.

I confess… I've been so bad about my Alaska/Honeymoon recaps. I really want to show y'all how amazing both places were, but 2000+ photos aren't fun to look through. #notaphotographer.

I confess… when "Dress You Up In My Love" song came on the radio, I found myself back in my middle school, singing in my bedroom. 80s Madonna was my jam and I envisioned singing this song to my beau one day. #dork
[source]
I confess…  this would be the face Le Husband would have if I tried to dance around and sing to him.

I confess…  I cheated on my eat healthy diet yesterday and didn't feel bad for .25 seconds.
healthy-eating-gif

And then I felt like this.

tumblr_mx42a81b2d1syeot2o1_500

I confess… I checked myself out at the gym yesterday. But it was only after Le Husband told me I looked badass doing fingertip pull-ups. #tryingtogetittight

I confess… when I think about everything we have planned in the next few months, it makes me wanna do this. Kickball trips, football trips, alumni trips and family trips, oh my!

I confess…  I can't believe we are almost a month away from our one year anniversary. It is so crazy how fast time flies. #yesiknowthat'scliche!

I confess…  I'm super excited for our one year anniversary plans :)!

I confess… the friendships I've made blogging  [both old and new] make me so happy. I have friends of years now and some new, amazing blog friends that make me smile daily. Thanks for being fabulous  and amazing, y'all really are the bee's knees!

Our First Weekend at Home... in Ten Weeks

Morning friends, how's it going? I hope you had a great weekend and are ready to crush it this week. I'm FINALLY back to feeling human and am sooooo ready to get after it.

Here's a look back at my weekend and what I learned.

I learned...

…Being 75% done with Christmas presents in July, is probably one of the best feelings ever. Bought, wrapped and stored in a safe place as of this weekend. #ChristmasinJuly

…Watching BBQ Pit-Masters is all I need to crave ribs.

…It doesn't take much convincing for Le Husband to whip up some amazing dry ribs. The inner southerner in me was sooooo happy Saturday night.

…That there are people out there, that spread lies and rumors, just to make themselves feel and 'look' better.

…Even though my immediate reaction was to post the truth, I realized later, it doesn't really even matter anymore. I know the truth, I know the lies and I know my heart and my worth. If someone wants to try and smear that, go ahead, but I'm 100% comfortable with MY friendships, my life and who I am!

…I am a bit kick-balled out.

…Four kickball games and four soccer games in one week is a lot of ball playing.

…It has been waaaay too long since we visited the farmers market. Fresh produce, sustainability and delicious butchered meats…yup the gangs all here :)

…After a long Friday at work, surprise flowers from Le Husband can work wonders for my mental state of mind.

…As can a clean, put together after vacation apartment. PTL!

…I am becoming a slave to shellac nails. I know they aren't cheap, but man my nails look amazing 2+ weeks later. This mani was back on the last day of our cruise and my nails still look fresh. Any color suggestions for my next one?

…Swinging a racquet after a year is fun, yet frustrating. I hit some killer shots at the tennis clinic, but also whiffed and shanked a bunch too. I need to get back on the courts more often.

…Dudes don't like to be hit in the nut-sack.

…I don't like being the one that hit the ball into the instructor. SORRY!

…When the opposing soccer team acts like bush-league jerks I can't help but go back to my college athlete attitude. We were crushing the team 8-2 and ended up winning 14-2 because they were complete douche bags. #sorryimnotsorry #wekickedyourbutt #suckit

…Early bedtime on Sundays are the best.

You Might Think I'm Weird

I just gotta confess these weird quirks...

I can't sleep without socks on my feet.

I'd rather rewatch a TV show/movie than go to the movies.
I can still wear some clothes from high school.

I can't wrap my head around rompers. I just don't think they are cute.

I don't understand when brides change their names on Facebook the night of the wedding or the morning after. 1] It isn't true, because your SS name hasn't been changed and 2] Was the wedding that boring you had to get online?!?

I try to step over every crack in the sidewalk
yes it makes for interesting jumps.

Hunger games....didn't read em, won't see the movies.

I won't step on grates.

I'd choose a small dinner vs a big party.

My kitchen has to be spotless...my bedroom, eh.

I don't discuss my bodily functions, almost ever. And it's persona non grata around Le Husband. Call me prim all you want, but I don't believe it has any place in our relationship. I've been told once children enter our world, this will change, but we aren't there yet. Despite my tomboyish nature, I don't think mentioning my digestive needs will make our relationship any better and the lack of 'needs' is actually a running joke.

95% of the time, I choose heels over flats.

I have to lotion up my hands after I wash them. EVERY.SINGLE.TIME!

A messy list of 'To Dos' drives me nuts. I'll rewrite it until it's 'pretty'.

I hate fake cinnamon anything.
yuck card to big red, fireball and red hots

I could eat the same dessert every night, but can't eat the same thing for lunch or dinner every day.

Spiders don't bother me, but I'll freak if I see a millipede.

I don't usually miss Le Husband actively, until he's home. Meaning, once he's back I realize how much I actually missed him.

I will argue that summer is the best season to the DEATH!

What makes you 'weird'?

Confessions of an Over Packer

Summer's here and that means trips, trips, trips.

Which means, packing, packing, packing.

And that means.......it's time for CONFESSIONS of an OVER-PACKER.

I've said it a bazillion times before, but I'll say it again...
I'm a HORRIBLE PACKER!

I over-pack like crazy, because I never want to be left
wanting something while I'm on a trip.

Don't believe me?!

Check it...

Exhibit A: VEGAS 2011- 3 days, 4 nights

SHOES: 10 pairs for 4 Days!!!
It was only my second trip to Vegas and I really wanted to do it up after my first trip. I was there for kickball tournament so the cleats, flips and gymmers don't really count right?!?! But yeah, I ended up packing two pairs of shoes in Le Husband's [Le Beau at the time] suitcase. I think I brought three dresses, two skirts, two swimmy suits and a pair of booty shorts.

I posted a picture on Facebook and everyone gave me the Heather Dubrow!

Exhibit B: Cancun 2012 - Five days
In 2012, Le Husband [Le Beau at the time] kicked some major arse at his job and qualified for an all expenses paid trip to Cancun with other people in his company. And, he was allowed to bring his S/O for free too....HOLLLA! I was super stoked for a free trip with my man, but we had only been dating for six months and everyone else going were older married couples, with kids. So I was a bit nervous about looking like 1] Flavor of the month and 2] A college kid. We only had one excursion so all I really needed to pack was three swim suits, a cover up and an outfit for dinner each night. Yeah....you don't even wanna know how many outfits I packed.

Exhibit C: Vegas 2012 - 3 days, 4 nights
While I was a bit more organized for this trip, I still was a bit of a mess. As you can see there was A LOT of pink packed and I totally brought four extra outfits. I think most of that had to do with the fact that Vegas is the one place I thought I could still wear my sloooty girl clothes. But, when I was there, I found I just wanted to wear a cute dress or skirt. I will say that this trip I was much better with shoes. I only packed six pairs.

**//**//**//**

So there you have it friends, my over packing confessions. I know a list helps, but I'm always the girl that thinks "hmmmm, but I might need this...just maybe...I think". At least I'll ALWAYS BE PREPARED!

Are you an over-packer or an awesome packer? Any tips you want to share?
