Confession Friday: Q&A

linkupwithLeslie

Using the topic for today and answering a lil Q&A:

1. My worst fashion offense of all time has to be Spice Girl Platform Shoes
[source]
2. The most embarrassing song on my iPod is probably "Like Me" by Girlicious.

3. The last white lie I told was to Le Fiance.

I  told him I was done being stressed about wedding stuff...yeah right!

4. The celebrity I most wish would disappear is the whole Kardashian family UGH!

5. Sometimes, I wish I could heal all the hurt in the world.

Yes, so cliche, but hearing stories from where both my sisters work often breaks my heart. There is so much love needed in this world but people seem more concerned with the Kardashians or themselves :(

6. My childhood crush was JTT or Max Elliot Slade, SWOON!

7. I've never turned down another hug or kiss from Le Fiance.

8. Snakes make me a nervous wreck.

I hate hate hate snakes. Probably right on the line of a phobia. I have to turn away from CARTOON snakes on TV. ***heebbiiiieeeeejeeeebbbiiiiieeeeesssss***

9. I'd rather watch paint dry than mow the front/back/side lawn.

10. Much like a train wreck, I can't turn away from watching Real Housewives of New Jersey and Orange County

Can't stop watching the DRAMA!

This girl is so glad it's Friday. So thankful my doozy of a week is THIS close to being over. Have a wonderful weekend sweet ladies!

Thoughts on a Thursday

1] This week has been hellacious. UTTERLY AND RIDICULOUSLY HELLACIOUS! Anything and everything that could go wrong did. My work situation was a mess and my personal life was off the chart insane. Oh and my car tire had a nail in it too. I just could NOT WIN! I was so stressed out I literally made myself sick Tuesday night. YES, LITERALLY! I'm talking sleeping on the bathroom floor sick. Yeah, no bueno. Next week is the light at the end of the tunnel...so close....so flippin close.

2] Yesterday I was decompressing and talking to C about wedding stuff and how crazy my week had been. I was rambling on and on and he then says "Hey can you do me a favor"? To which I think "ummm, sure, but I'm in the middle of talking". He then says "Try to stress less okay honey? It will be okay"! I was caught between wanting to hug him and throw something at him. How do dudes do it?!?! < 3 my honey!

C] This picture and story made me happy yesterday. Hooray for such an amazing man and a GREAT PRESIDENT!

3] The USMNT is in the Gold Cup finals this weekend. Let's go Men's Soccer! WE NEED THIS OKAY!?!

4] Today we woke up to fall-like weather in DC...yeah no thanks, bring back the HEAT!

5] God are you there? It's me, Pinky! This pin is exactly what I NEED

Week In Workouts

Ya like?!?!?
Week three of weekly workouts.

Let's get after it shall we?

Week in workouts 7/15 - 7/21

Monday: 6 am Body Pump Class 2 mile run after work
For the first time in awhile I got my booty up and went to the gym in the AM for a good workout sesh. I chose to hit up Gold's Body Pump class because I wanted to get in a great full body workout and have someone push me as well. The instructor [who is 6months prego] is legit in shape and awesome at motivating. I really pushed myself with the weights and even though I was hurting felt awesome once class was over. My goal is to hit this class at least once a week.

Tuesday: 45 Yoga Power Sculpt Class
I've mentioned Power Scuplt before and it is legit one of my new favorite workouts. The class is only 45 minutes but it's 45 minutes of butt kicking. I wasn't able to use the higher weights due to being sore from body pump the previous morning, but the high reps/low weight still slayed me. I'm not a sweaty person when I work out, but this class I'm dripping and it feels so good. I'll need to hit this class multiple times before the wedding.

Wednesday: 45 Minute Swim Workout
Since I've been trying to mix up my workouts, I really wanted to utilize our community pool and Sportyspice's college swimming knowledge. I had her write me up a swim workout [that wouldn't kill me] and headed to the pool after work. It's been super warm lately, so I knew a pool workout would be perfect.  Here's what she had me do:
300 warm up -Swim Kick Drill
10 x 50 odds choice evens free [10 seconds rest between each 50]
4 x 75 IM drill [fl/bk/br, bk/br/fr, br/fr/fl, fr,fl,bk]
6 x 25 build with 5 seconds rest
Warm down
She kicked my butt, but I felt super accomplished when I finished my workout. I forget how much of a full body workout swimming is and it's super easy on joints too. I will def be doing this as much as possible throughout the summer.

Thursday: Kickball Game & Bar Dancing
Okay, I'm really not considering this a workout, so I guess it's technically an active rest day. My summer league kickball team is ALL for fun so there isn't much a workout at games. I always try my  hardest to win, but the competition isn't very good so there really isn't much effort required. Yes, I know I sound cocky, but it's the truth. This Thursday was the first time I made it to the bar, so I got some extra cardio in dancing around until 9:30 that evening. I doubt I burned many calories, but at least I was moving and shaking right?

Friday:
Things got away from me Friday which irks me to no end. I had planned to hit up the 6am body pump class, but my late night kickball bar fun didn't help me get up in the morning. The next plan was to run after work, but it was so steamy hot that I thought better of it for safety reasons. I decided to hit up the pool for a possible workout, but would you believe that it was closed for swimming due to a swim meet? I had my tennis stuff in the car, so I was able to get in a lil bit of tennis with my dad&uncle, but not nearly enough to be considered a workout. I almost did a workout at home later that evening but was too busy having a pity party to really commit. Not how I wanted to end the week but oh well, guess it happens.

I wasn't as consistent as I planned this week and hope I can change that next week. I need to get my butt up in the mornings as much as possible so there is less room for missing workouts.

What workouts did you do?!?!

My Bridal Shower

Saturday was one of the best days of my life.

Babyspice, Sportyspice and Mama B threw me
the best bridal shower in the world.

It was so, so, so much fun! The day couldn't have been any better.

Babyspice designed this beautiful invitation a few months ago
and I'm glad I can finally share it today.
So talented right?
When the lovely party planners asked me what I wanted for a theme,
I mentioned these three things:

Vintage/Whimsy Decor
Mimosa bar
& BRUNCH!

My oh my, did they deliver.

The decor was so beautiful; there were teacups, vintage jewels,
pictures of me & C and pink pink pink!

I wish everyone reading could taste the deliciousness
that was the food.
Everything was so incredible.

We had Nutella crepes, ham biscuits, caprese sticks, mini pancakes,
fruit & goat cheese brushetta, fruit salad and angel food cupcakes.

TO
DIE
FOR!

I'm a lucky girl with leftovers today ;)!

Of course there were fun bridal games and
everyone had a blast playing.

We played
"What was the bride wearing?"
"How well do you know the bride?"
"Bridal Bingo"
"And how well does the bride know the groom?

Ummmmmm yeah, I almost failed my game.

ONE WORD...ALLIGATOR!?!?

All of the guests were super generous
and C & I received many thoughtful gifts.

I'm still on cloud nine honestly,
the party was so fun and I felt so loved.

People are right, this really is the BEST time of your life
because everyone is so genuinely happy for us.

I couldn't have asked for a better party or day.

THANK YOU SISSYS and MAMA B!

Confession Fridays

Linkup with Leslie

I confess. . . that last night I may have broken the law. It wasn't bad, it didn't harm anyone, but I confess I did it. Last night was the first time I ever used a 'fake id' because I accidentally left mine at home. A teamie had an extra one which I used, but I was twelve kind of nervous handing it over. I think the bouncer knew, but it was kickball night so he let me proceed anyway. REBEL without a cause YO!

I confess. . . this summer kickball team is my favorite. We dress up in jorts and redwhiteandblue America style and kick everyone's butt. So much fun and I love dressing up with my team.
Big Slick Cowboys, what what!

I confess. . . Last night at the bar I realized I was super old. I was sitting on a stool near the dance floor/flip cup table and Babyspice was legit breaking it down. She is very entertaining to watch and I was talking to a teammate about how awesome she was and he turned to look at me and said "That used to be YOU! Now you just watch"! DAAAAAAAGGGGER! You bet I got my old hiney up and jammed out to the next few songs. ME....OLD.....WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!

I confess. . . My boss is slowly working on my last nerve. Her attitude in addressing me and the lack of leadership, only delegation now, is driving me nuts. Nashville's LOOKING REALLY nice right now.

I confess. . . I am 230483024802384039840238 kinds of excited for my bridal shower tomorrow. Babyspice, Sportyspice, and Mama B have been planning and working really hard to get everything ready and I know they will do a bang up job. I've been given a FEEEEW hints about some pieces of the party, but for the most part it's a surprise. I'm just thrilled that so many of my friends will be able to celebrate with me during this wonderful time. I.CAN'T.WAIT.

I confess. . . 50 days y'all.....50 DAYS until I'm a MRS. Didn't I JUST get the ring?!?!

HAPPY FRIDAY LOVELY LADIES!!!!!!!!!

Pin, Bake and Stuff Your Face

Last weekend a good friend and coworker hosted a small bbq
and asked me to bring a dessert.

Now, I know I talk about eating healthy a lot,
but I am KNOWN for my yummy desserts at work.

A few years back I would bake/create desserts
just for the fun of it and bring em into the office
for others to enjoy.

Since I've been trying to be REALLY good, my dessert baking
as been mahjahly lacking.

I've made this dessert before, but for a different group
and it was SUCH a crowd pleaser I thought it
would be perfect for a summer bbq.

Get in My BELLY
Original pin found *here*
INSTANT Jello Vanilla pudding mix, Oreos, Red Velvet Cake mix [and everything needed to make the cake], whipping cream and sugar for homemade whip cream [or store bought coolwhip].
Bake cake according to directions. Once done, let cool for a few minutes then use a spoon to poke holes in the still warm cake. Be sure to get all the way down to the bottom.

Mix up the INSTANT pudding [wont work if it's not instant], then pour over the cake. Be sure to use a spoon to push the pudding down into the holes on the cake. Put in fridge for at least two hours.

If you are using store bought whip cream skip the first picture and just spread onto the cake. If you're like me, you'll wanna make your own whip cream. It's super easy and I just used THIS pin. I would probably double the recipe just to make sure you cover the cake completely. After you layer the whip cream, smash 10 or so Oreos and sprinkle on top.

AND ENJOY!
  A few quick notes:
*MAKE SURE TO BUY INSTANT pudding.
I made the mistake once, I won't make it again.
*If you have stuff in your fridge that smells [not badly, just has an odor]
make sure you cover your cake.
*Homemade whip cream is so much better than store bought :).

This recipe is sure to be a crowd pleaser I promise.
Let me know if you have any questions!

A quick trip down memory lane.

When I first met C, never in a MILLION YEARS did I expect
we would be engaged and getting married
September 2013.
The past three years have truly been the best years
of my life and I honestly
can't imagine my life without him in it.

I've known this amazing man for three years
and in two months I will become his wife.

This will probably be the last time we 'celebrate'
this anniversary,
since you know, we have a BIGGER one coming up
in September.

So CHEERS to three fabulous years.

My darling handsome C,
I can't wait to become 'yours'
I love you to the moon and back!
