Confession Friday's Letters

1] I went to Boston last weekend for a kickerball tournament and I haven't posted a recap yet. Have no fear, there will be one next week.

2] I am in a tizzy because next month is October. And by next month I mean Monday, what the froyo!? I have the National Kickball championship next month, say what?!?!? Where or where has this year gone?

3] My grammar sucks and I need help. To anyone reading this, please feel free to correct all of my mistakes and then send me them in an email. I want to improve my writing, thanks!

4] I may have checked blogs, facebook AND personal email before doing anything work related this morning. My bags may be sitting right next to me without being put away too. #Friday.

5] Even though I know the phrase "whatever" is a button pusher, I still used it last night. And now I feel badly because I got a sweet text in the morning.

6] I am thrilled to pieces the regular NFL refs are back because now people will stop b*$chin'. I understand everyone loves the NFL, but having the presidential candidates voice their opinions about the refs on Twitter made me see red. Y'all have a heck of a lot more to deal with than NFL refs, like the middle east or the economy, sheesh.

7] I played the part of being a mean girl and I shouldn't have, shame on me.

8] I confess I'm super excited to have this linkup back, thanks Leslie!

Dear Friday: I love you! Dear Fall TV shows: I'm so glad you are back, don't make me cry though. Dear Real Princes Looking for Love on TLC: WHAT THE WHAT!?! Y'all are ridiculous. Dear ankle: Know your role and get better NOW! Dear Sissys and Le Beau: Tomorrow is going to be so much fun, I can't wait to go hiking. Dear Bloggies: Please pray for a student of my father's. He was hit by a car while riding his motorcycle and is still in critical condition. He and his wife are Christians and could desperately use your prayers. Dear S&T: We are praying for you! GOD IS GOOD!

Have a great weekend friends!

Thoughts on a Thursday

Another Thursday, another post of thoughts.

Because, we all know y'all wonder "What's Pinky Thinkin'"?

Am I right or am I right?

Moving on.

1]Why do I feel like doodoo after 3 days of not working out but it takes weeks to feel the progress? Saturday was a long kickball tourney and since Sunday was a travel day I took Monday and Tuesday off to rest. Well wouldn't you know I feel gross and icky yesterday and today and that baffles me. When I eat super clean and workout 4x a week I feel good but not GREAT. Why do I feel horrible after 3 bad days?!?! BLECH!

2] Why do girls over think with dating and why do guys NOT think at all?!!? Things are fine with me and C, but I've noticed this trend from others. Life would be a lot easier if God had wired men and women's brains alike.

3] Facebook. I don't know if I love it or hate it as I get older. I enjoy keeping in touch with college and high school friends that are no longer in the area and it's great to keep in touch with family. But, I don't like how LOOK AT ME our culture has become and Facebook is one of the reasons. I also don't like how much I personally check FB, there is more to life for sure.

4] I don't understand why chips taste better than carrots, no fair.

5] How much wood could a woodchuck chuck, if a wood chuck
could chuck wood?

6] Why do I love Nora Roberts' books so much? They are all written with the same plot, just different places in the world. I guess I'm a romantic sucker.
7] Christmas in 2+ months...OHEMGEE!

And since I didn't attach any pictures, please enjoy.

Perfect Push Ups For All

No, this post is not about b00bs!
I'm not talking push up brahhhhhs [although I probably should].
And no, I am not perfect!

I'm talking the actual physical act of doing a push up.

LAWD HAVE MERCY LADIES, if I had a penny for
EVER incorrect push up I have seen a girl do since college,
I wouldn't have to work another day the rest of my life.

And today, I am doing MY part to correct
and help y'all
so we can create a perfect push up world :)

Let me say for the record:
I am NOT a certified trainer or fitness expert.
I DO NOT have a degree in physical education or training.
I've NEVER trained someone for money in my life.

But, I have been told numerous times
by trainers [men & women]
military personnel [men & women]
coaches [men & women]
and most importantly
my family
[army dad, gymnast mama and two bada$$ sissy athletes]
that I have LEGIT push up technique and form.

This ain't some kind of humble brag,
but those are the credentials I'm rolling with for my post today.

Ladies, push ups are NOT that hard.

Are they hard, YES!
But, there are modifications to help
build stamina to complete multiple
push ups,
using CORRECT FORM

Recently, I have seen WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY too many
girls,
instructors,
fitness bloggies,
athletes,
teammates
doing push ups with HORRIBLE form!

This has to stop.

Not only are you making push ups harder on yourself,
you look funny.
Sorry, but that's the truth.

So, today I'm posting a video
explaining the proper technique for push ups
with and without modifications.

Don't have time to watch the video?
No sweat [haha] here are some pictures
and technique tips.

Modified push up [on knees]
YES!

NONONONONO

*Keep a straight line from your crown to your knees, through your butt/hips.
*Bend your arms so your chest is barely higher than the ground.
*DON'T let your butt/hips go up in the air.
*DON'T only go down an inch.

Regular push ups [on toes]
YES!

NONONONONONONO!

*Keep a straight line from your crown to your feet.
*Tighten your abs, will help maintain good form.
*DON'T let your butt/hips stay high in the air.
*DON'T let your hips/butt sag low to the ground.
*DON'T just barely bend your arms, THAT DOESN'T COUNT.
*When you feel your form failing, switch to modified
INSTEAD of trying to power through incorrectly.

******************************************

I hope the video and pictures were helpful.

YOU CAN DO PUSH UPS CORRECTLY LADIES!

I KNOW YOU CAN!

Officially FALL

If you've heard it once,

you've heard it a 230480234830 times,

Never have been, probably never will be.

I like warmth, sunshine, heat, swimming pools, sunnies, and bbqs.

However, with the OFFICIAL first day of fall behind us,

I figured I should try and enjoy this season.

And usually, by October I'm on the fall bandwagon.

Because, I admit there are a lot of fun things about fall.

Pretty scenes in the country

Pumpkins

Beautiful American landscapes, changing colors.

Lovely tablescapes

Thoughts on a Thursday

There's a lot going on in Pinkland today, so a list post it is.

1} You can find me *HERE*, linking up with Erin of "Living in Yellow". She's doing an "I Believe" link up, and since I loved my "I Believe" post back in August, I thought, recycle!!! WOOHOO!

2} Yesterday, was the 25 year anniversary of BabySpice being born. And, as much as Sportyspice and I tease her, we are happy she came to be [pineapple ornament?]! Mama B cooked a delicious dinner birthday dinner last night and I am still stuffed. My diet suffered a little though, because BabySpice requested my mother's [greatgrandmother's] famous Oreo icecreamcake dessert. I'm so mad I didn't take a picture, but OH EM MOUTHWATERING GOSH, sooooooooooo goooood!
L-R
1] Flank steak, homemade crabcakes, tots, asparagus, spinach strawberry salad
2] I believe a girl she get 3 things on her 25th bday: Chocolate, Champagne and Flowers
3]Family at Birthday dinner
4] Presents for Babyspice

Goober head wanted some short hair pictures!
3] Normally today would be a Healthy Linkup post, but man, my working out has been all over the place. Usually, if I make a plan I can stick to it, but recently with my ankle I haven't been able to like I want. C and I are working out a few mornings a week, but that hasn't been doing much for me. What's frustrating me the most is I'm eating clean, not STRICTLY clean, but pretty darn clean [minus the cake last night]. Very little to no processed foods, lean proteins, very few carbs and lots of veggies and fruit, but STILL no change in clothing or weight. I'm frustrated beyond belief. After my tourney this weekend it's on like donkey kong. Cardio will become my new best friend!

4] Yes, I have another kickball tourney this weekend, woot woot! I'm super excited to head up north and kick some booty. This will be an interesting tourney because our team is traveling very light and there are a TON of good teams attending. Hopefully the team can pull another win out of the hat and come home Champs! I've got two ankle braces so, say a prayer or cross your fingers for me!

5] I am the WORST packer EVER! Trust me, you've read about it before. But, this time I'm going to say the weather is at fault. With fall JUST around the corner [jerk] and since I am heading north I have NO IDEA what to pack. It's only for a few days, but packing layers is NOT my thing. I'm used to throwing on a sundress, flips and then I'm ready to rock and roll. Being high maintenance is so annoying sometimes ;)!
HELP ME!!!!
6] Le Beau and I were talking last night and OHMIWORD, after this weekend our lives are gonna hit a nonstop pace. We have so many things coming up in the fall, I'm really not going to catch my breath until after Thanksgiving! But, I wouldn't have it any other way. I'm excited to have C by my side during all our fun adventures!

That's it for me today! I hope you have a GREAT Thursday and weekend! <3>

Me, Myself and I Link Up

I wanted to try something new today,
so I'm linking up for
not sure WHY the linkup says August, but oh well.
Here are the questions we were asked this week:

[1] When you're feeling down, what do you do to pick yourself up?
Hmmm, I guess this all depends on what is making me sad and the degree of feeling down. Sometimes all it takes is a phone call to a loved one or a visit and a hug. Other times I need to have a good cry, some ice cream, mindless movie time and in extreme cases some shopping. As I get older, I'm trying to look to prayer and the Bible when I'm down.
God always knows what we need.

[2] If you had to live in a different time period, which would you prefer?
This is a tough one, but I would have to say the 40s. I love the fashion and how happy Americans were before WW2. I idolize the 'Greatest Generation'.

[3] What is the most creative Halloween costume you've ever worn?
I've had a few really good ones recently.
Y'all can tell me which is the most creative.

B] Homemade Mario costume 2009.

C] The Johnny Walker Black liquor of a 'Three Wise Men' shot.

[4] Five weird things about you we wouldn't know without being told?
1} I hate feet! Mine and other peoples, EWWW!
2}I'm a tomboy girlie girl. I can go to the extreme on either side of the scale.
3} I come across as very outgoing, but can be very very shy.
4} My bark is way worse than my bite.
5} I have very quick reflexes and sprint really fast.

[5] What would you tell your 16-year-old self?
Be kind to your mother. Despite the fact you THINK you know everything, you DON'T! She isn't happy having daddy half way around the world and could really use less lip and sassyness out of you. When you get older she will become one of your best friends, so be kind!

Thanks for reading! I can't wait to find some fun new blogs to read!
