... last week when Le Husband and I were cooking dinner I randomly pretended we were taping our cooking show and wouldn't you know, Le Husband decided to play along. Y'all, it was HYSTERICAL! Part of me thinks we would be amazing on TV and part of me thinks we'd be a disaster. Maybe I can talk him into filming one for the blog ;)!
... this commercial makes me laugh more than it should. I may have started yelling 'GLENN from the mail room' at Le Husband randomly and he may laugh at me or just roll his eyes. #illletyouguess
... I almost jumped through my computer screen to strangle someone at work on Monday. Homegirl was sending me a separate email regarding each individual question/issue she had about something. You're kidding, right?! I, not so kindly, responded to the THIRD email saying work would be faster if she gave me a comprehensive list. #myjobgivesmemoneysobegrateful
... I think I made a mistake with my Christmas cards. One of my favorite Christmas verses is Isaiah 9:6 so I included the words "For unto us a child is born, to us a son is given and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace" with the verse. Well, I've now had multiple people ask me if I was being cute in announcing a pregnancy. Um, I'm sorry, what?!?! 1] Do people really think I would equal my child's birth to Christ's {if anyone thinks yes, please just unfollow me now, because you clearly have NO IDEA who I am} and 2] If I were to announce wouldn't I ACTUALLY announce? Call me crazy, but a lil bit of joy has been squelched with my cards and I'm honestly pretty bummed about it all.
... after participating three rounds of Whole30 this year [check em out here, here and here] I find my body no longer enjoys all the holiday latte, macchiatto or brulee drinks. Tragic, I know. My Starbucks order now is either a Misto or plain coffee. #sonothollyjolly
... when people have a linkup and don't have a post the day of they get the biggest eye roll. Look, I get it if it happens once or twice because of life, obviously REAL LIFE is more important than blogging. But, I don't understand not using scheduling JUST to put the LINKY up for other bloggers or reaching out and asking for a more consistent cohost. #notthatbigadealbutannoying #amItheonlyonethinkingthis
... I love holiday music and often play it year round when I need a serious pick me up, but I save THIS song for Christmas time and Christmas time only. Why do I love it so? I 100% believe it has to do with the ridiculous 1985 skiing outfits in the music video. If you're feeling down, play it, I promise you'll feel better.
linking up with holly, kathy and nadine
Oh no! So sorry to hear your cards have been creating quite the stir. People read way too much into things sometimes. And YES to the link up thing!! WTF?! Why on earth do people do that? So annoying. <3, Pamela Sequins & Sea Breezes
ReplyDeleteI got your cards and I didn't think that at all...I mean you could name your son saint and be on par with that ridiculousness!!! Sometimes people that link up and don't even have anything that deals with what it is your linkup is about drives me batty...LOL xo, Biana-BlovedBoston
ReplyDeleteyou mean like me with my non-existent confessions post today?? LOL! i just realized last night that today was wednesday (already!!) so i quickly messaged nadine and said that she'd be flying solo today since work shit is gettin real and i still thought it was monday :(
ReplyDeleteUmmm that card thing I s hilarious and yeah I'm with you on the link up thing!!
ReplyDeleteI totally never thought that at all when I got your card. I just figured you loved the verse and since it's relevant for this time of year, put it on the card. I have to shake my head a little bit at people that got pregnancy announcement off that, lol! Listening to Last Christmas right now. Loving it. Perfect way to wake myself up today!
ReplyDeletePS: Try a peppermint mocha with no whip. They're still a bit sweet, but NOWHERE near as sweet as all those lattes and such. Maybe that won't upset your system too much!
Love me some confessions! I love that you two did a pretend cooking show! I think we need one here on your blog - too cute!
ReplyDeleteoh no! I'm sorry your cards have been getting questioned, it definitely takes some of the fun out of it but I'm sure they are still beautiful!
ReplyDeletei feel you on the sweet drinks girl - i usually end up getting half the syrup and then get coconut milk - that helps :) and only for a special treat. otherwise black coffee for me. that is wild about your christmas cards! people are so friggen weird haha
ReplyDeletexoxo cheshire kat
Booooo for the card situation and people being so such nutsos to thinking that you wouldn't just actually ANNOUNCE if you were! That's just ridiculous. But I bet your cards were gorgeous, so don't let it get you too down!
ReplyDeleteI haven't been really craving any of those super sweet drinks either, but it's definitely not because I've been healthy lol. I think I'm just really more in the mood for hot cocoa these days :)
Sorry to hear about your cards. I would be upset too. Although, I never ever ever ask anyone if they are pregnant. NEVER! I worked with a girl who was clearly pregnant and I NEVER once said a word. She hadn't told me and I know she didn't want anyone to make a big deal about it. So whenever I saw her, I would just look at her face. It may seem cold but I had heard she was getting upset when people said something so I didn't. Oddly, I think she likes me more now since I was one of the people who didn't ask her a thing about her pregnancy. She is a very private person and doesn't even have a picture of her son in her office.
ReplyDeleteHaha I love confessions! I accidentally told my boyfriend one of the gifts I got him, and I was so mad at myself! I have been loving the DirectTV commercials too...they are so funny this year! I'm sorry that people are reading too much into your Christmas card...the verse sounds clearly like Christmas to me!
ReplyDeleteHa I love this post! Girl it sounds like you need a coctail instead of coffee! I absolutely hate when people do that with emails, I would flip too! I also love the Christmas card story!
ReplyDeleteLOL at the title to your post - my favorite line from that movie! And booooo to the Christmas card situation. I for one would have never thought that, as it's a very popular verse in the Bible surrounding Christmas time and is the real reason for the season. What is wrong with people?! lol :-P
ReplyDeleteGreen Fashionista
I just laughed out loud at the fact that people think your bible verse is a pregnancy announcement!!! TOO FUNNY! My holiday confession is that Home Alone is my favorite Xmas movie and I will watch it at least 5 times in the next two weeks. In fact, I watched it yesterday. :)
ReplyDeleteOh no! Sorry to hear about the holiday cards...that's unfortunate the people are reading deeper into it.
ReplyDeleteI noticed the same thing with some linkup hosts and it's not once, it's almost every other week! lol really?
xx Emily

PLEASE get C to film cooking with you for the blog. Please!!! I beg of you. And wow. I had no inkling that your card would be equated to a preggo announcement. Funny stuff. But PLEASE film him!!!
ReplyDeleteSheesh to the seperate email situation at work...I most definitely understand that! You are so not alone of dropping the ball with gifts, I just couldn't get into it this year. Even for myself. I told my side of the family to do a $25 giving limit so maybe we could at least not stress over money this time of year. I SO want to see y'alls cooking show!!
ReplyDeleteLinds @ Not A Mom
Haha I love that you acted like you were taping a cooking show, that's pretty much amazing.
ReplyDeleteSorry about the ordeal with your cards, sometimes people just need to keep their random (completely off-base) comments to themselves. Not sure why anyone would think that was a pregnancy announcement?-Haha crazy. How fun would it be if you and your husband filmed some cooking videos! I'd watch :)
ReplyDeleteBlog post title = hilarious. Love that movie. Probably should have made my top five list. I had the same experience with a coworker yesterday/today. Not the questions, but just wanting to jump through the computer to get her. Deep breaths. That is really a bummer about your Christmas cards...I think you'd be a little more specific if you were expecting and have something that says HEY WE'RE HAVING A BABY! Just a thought. Great post. :) Oh and YES on the link up people not posting on their link up days...just saying.
ReplyDeleteHahahaha, I'm DYING at the title of this post because I just used the same phrase in my post for tomorrow! Home Alone is my second favorite Christmas movie of all time! #BuzzYourGirlfriendWoof #INeedThatTackySweater
ReplyDeleteThat is so annoying about the Christmas card thing. Why would you be so passive aggressive about a pregnancy announcement if it was true?! A portion of that verse is on lots of cards. Why would someone assume that? Sorry girl!
ReplyDeleteAnd I totally get being annoyed about the link up think!!! Nothing drives me battier! Having a cohost is good for that exact reason. Life happens so at least if there are two people one should have their shit together!
Happy Wednesday!
Omg I love Home Alone, I cannot wait to watch it way too many times in the next few weeks!! YES to the cooking vlog! Oh wow, how lame that people thought that from your xmas card, I'm sure your cards were still fab!
ReplyDeletePeople can be so silly.... Sorry about the craziness with your cards! :( That is a GREAT verse and I would never have thought anything of that! I'm having some annoying people with work-related stuff too- I feel you girlfriend!!!
ReplyDeleteOh, I'll have to go read about your Whole30s! I did one (my first) in September, and it's already made such a big difference in how I view/my tummy views all these Holiday treats.
ReplyDeletePeople are silly! And a little crazy...as soon as you get married they'll just find a hidden pregnancy announcement in just about everything ...
Oh my gosh! I can't believe people actually thought you might be announcing a pregnancy with that Bible verse - what in the world?!? At least I know not to think that now ;) Haha! And I agree about the link up thing. It's so weird.
ReplyDeletePlease film & post a cooking show video haha.
ReplyDeleteI get annoyed when people do their little thing on a link-up & then when you click it to read their post about the weekend or confessions or whatever...it's a random post from a random day. I wanted to hear about your weekend not a recipe from last Tuesday. I won't even comment if you put your link in a link-up & it's not topic related.
Sorry to hear about your cards, but hopefully, everyone will stop and re-think the verse before asking you that question again. Also, it drives me batty when I get excited about a link up and the hostess doesn't even have it up on their blog at all the day it is supposed to be and I've prepared my post and go to link up and nada - it's crazy! Regarding the yummy coffee drinks, etc. and the Whole 30, I'm just the opposite. After the first time around and doing it right, I can't seem to get the 2nd or 3rd time right at all. I end up just eating Paleo again like normal instead of Whole 30 but then I slide downhill on that as well and start gaining the weight back - blah....
ReplyDeleteThat's a bummer that people took your Christmas Card the wrong way. Silly people!
ReplyDeleteThat is too funny that y'all started your own cooking show the other day. It's always the little things that are so much fun! And I can't believe that friends and family actually thought that you were announcing a pregnancy! I'm with you that you probably would have actually announced it if you were pregnant.
ReplyDeleteLOL at pretending to be on a cooking show. I kind of actually really love it!! I would kill my husband on TV... I know I would. He likes to "supervise" or "coach" and I don't like being told what to do... lol... I guess it would make for good TV though?! I can't believe people thought that verse was a pregnancy announcement... I love that one - it was one of the first ones I learned!
ReplyDeleteawww hunny i could feel your emotions in this post. May i ask what happened in the gift giving situation that has you so upset??
ReplyDeleteI'm with you on the if you were actually announcing a pregnancy it wouldn't be that way. Also you have stated time and time again you are not at that point in your life. Sorry that people popped your bubble.
i love last christmas!! esp the cheesy whispered "merry christmas" part. it's a fam fave. i'm glad i don't have co-workers. i have a boss and that is plenty, lol. i am so ready for the weekend!!
ReplyDeleteOOh man the card thing is kind of funny but it would bum me out too!
ReplyDeleteOMG... I too have been the victim of someone sending a separate e-mail for each question. I flat out told them to stop it. lolololol My way of doing it nicely since it was work related was to say that we got so many e-mails a day (TRUE!) that putting everything in one made it easier to respond and less likely that something would get overlooked.
ReplyDeleteAre you kidding me? I can't believe people would actually ask if that was a pregnancy announcement! Crazies.
ReplyDeleteoh girl i am sorry about your christmas card thing but thats not on you, thats on people wanting a baby out of you lol. my mother in law was out of town for thanksgiving so we said lets do a breakfast at our house, she had been there for 2 hours and said 'okay i can't handle it anymore, is this the announcement???' like you think just because we invite you over, we are pregnant?! what the heck?! honestly woman. holiday party the other day, i didn't feel like drinking (calories) and like 10 people were like 'ohhhh pregnant' i was like STOP IT LEAVE ME ALONE.
ReplyDeleteseriously.
anyway.
you two on the cooking show thing sounds fabulous. i love when KC randomly decides to be funny with me. definitely needs to be a vlog ;)
