My college coach sent out a Facebook message earlier this week, asking alumni to write a letter to the current team as they begin their preseason. UGH, that's the worst word ever. I dreaded August when I was in college, because it meant three-a-days in the hot humid weather and the Cooper test, nightmares, mini-mares, deck of cards and the Dairy Queen run. WOOF, just thinking about it makes me break out in a sweat.
So as I was writing my letter to the girls, it got me thinking about my life as a college athlete and the many things I miss and don't miss. So today, I'm confessing, soccer girl style.
I confess… I don't miss the first practice back from summer break. No matter how much work I put in during the summer, I still felt so out of shape the first few weeks.

I confess… soccer tan lines were my life in the summer.
I confess… I've done this routine many, many a time.
I confess… I big part of me still wishes I were a college athlete. I miss my team, my college body, the winning and the shenanigans.
I confess… I'm mad I didn't think to make this video.
Happy hump day, kit kats!
hahahah this is hilarious! holy crap that ball imprint! when my girlfriend was into rugby, seeing legit CLEAT shoe prints (from other players) on her legs was the norm. i was blown away by how brutal bitches can be on the field!

ReplyDeleteoh my gosh! hilarious. ball imprints?! holy ow! i love the pulling on jeans one haha thats me most days and i'm no soccer player. what are three a days? i hate stairs after leg days but those girls seem to really hate them haha.
ReplyDeleteThe ball imprint is awesome!! AS a cheerleader we only did two-a-days in the beginning of the year and it totally messed with my sleep patterns. I love that gif!
ReplyDeleteWoof - being a college athlete is no joke!! Those tan lines - yikes I feel your pain had the same ones growing up playing tennis - sock tans are a real thing lol!
ReplyDeleteThat ball imprint!! OMG!! Getting hit by the ball is no joke. #painful
ReplyDeleteI didn't know about the ball imprints! That's crazy!
ReplyDeleteI still have such respect for college athletes. I went to a small college where the teachers didn't cut anyone a break, especially when they had the away games at got back at 4 AM or had been working out since 5 AM.
This was hilarious!
I love that you played soccer! I have loved the sport for as long as I can remember but I've never played and looking at your ball imprints, I'm reminded why lol
ReplyDeleteJust hearing about things like three-a-days makes me break into a sweat! My best friend played soccer when we were in college and they worked their butts off. I feel you on missing the shenanigans.. that is one thing I miss about high school sports, too!
ReplyDeleteUmm soccer ball imprint?!? Really? No thank you!!! Ugh 3-a-days?! I already do 2-a-days at the gym twice a week, I can't imagine having to throw a THIRD workout in there. Yuck!

Ok, soccer ball imprint?! I did not know there was such a thing!!!
ReplyDeleteHahahahaha! Love it! I have the same problem with jeans. I like to call them "muscular thighs". But seriously, if it has an inch long zipper, that -ish ain't gonna fit.
ReplyDeleteugh but for reals the skinny jean thing translates to track too
ReplyDeleteBahahahaha... ball prints!!!! That is hilarious!
ReplyDeleteLove that you are a soccer girl too! I didn't play in college but I played on a club team til I was 19. Quite honestly I really miss soccer and my soccer body. Man did I take that for granted!
