The Purging and Goodbyes Have Started

[source]
Good morning, beautiful friends. I hope y'all had a great weekend and your Monday is going well so far. I'm in need of that EXTRA LARGE cup of coffee this morning because our weekend was extremely full and it was go, go, go. I am incredibly proud of how much I got done regarding our move and am glad I was also able to schedule some down time with good friends. Kind of sad the goodbye brunches/dinners/lunches/drinks have started, I don't even want to think about April.

Okay, moving on. This weekend I…

… was inspired by the gorgeous weather on Friday so I used this recipe and whipped up a deliciously light shrimp salad. It was everything I wanted it to be and tasted FANTASTIC! #springandsummerperfect

*serve it as is, on a salad or in romaine hart leaves*

… found one of my college shirts and was surprise by how well it still fit. Decided to wear it out Friday night.

… met friends out at a bar to dance to an INCREDBILE COVER BAND! #soooogoood

… had a blast dancing the night away with some of my favorite soccer ladies. It brought me back to my 20 something days and I had a nostalgic moment on the dance floor [thanks wine]. So thankful soccer brought such great people into my life.

… stayed out till midnight and then my night in shining armor picked me up. #solucky

… woke up super early to get in a CXworks class and then some cardio and booty work. #sweatingalcohol

… hustled back home to get ready to meet a good friend for brunch. We have known each other 24 years and I'm so grateful we've stayed so class. It was a great few hours catching up on her life and talking about my big changes. The food was amazing [hello french toast with marshmallow brûlée] and I am still dreaming about the fantastic french press coffee.

… came home and started the purging process.

… was suddenly laid up with an AWFUL headache and got derailed while I rested on the couch.

… thankfully kicked the headache and started the purging of closets. It was actually quite cathartic and I was pretty ruthless using the Spark Joy method. I admit I am quite sad to get rid of this beautiful piece because it no longer fits. Honestly I'm at a loss of what to do with it because I don't just want to give it away, anyone need a birthday dress?

… texted with the sissys and Biana when I came across a maybe. #thanksforyourhelp

… cleaned up quickly and met another friend for an overdue sushi/sake dinner. #wehousedit

… went home, cleaned out my part of the linen closet then went to bed.  #neededmoresleep

… woke up and went to church for Palm Sunday. Enjoyed the processing of the Palms and wondered where our next Palm Sunday will be celebrated. CAAAAHRAZY line of thinking.

… met my parents for an impromptu brunch after church at our favorite diner. #traditionsIwillmiss

… arrived home and tackled more purging. Anyone want some books? If not where should I donate?

… treated myself to cup of cocoa for a break. #isntitsupposedtobespring

… moved on to paper purging and recycled old recipts, policies and birthday cards.

… made an old t-shirt into a bag. #newwaytorecycleoldshirts

… had to document how much I got rid of this weekend. This doesn't include two other bags already at my parent's house and two boxes of books and linens we no longer need. #somuchstuff

… finally dropped my car of to get fixed after the hit and run.

… indulged in a cereal dinner for the first time in months. #iblamelehusband

… caught up with my bestest on the phone and created an event for our going away party. #eeek

How was your weekend? Do anything fun?

Call your local high school and see if they accept book donations for the library! All of ours are woefully out of date! You look darn good in that college top, girlie!!! Love it!!

I need more coffee after reading about your weekend. Definitely go, go, go, but looks like the best kind ,full of friends and fun!

I found some high school stuff the other day and surprised at how half fit and the other half was too tight haha. Seems like parts of me grew and other shrunk. Definitely doing a closet cleanse this weekend!

i donate all of my books to the library! i have a box of kayla's baby books that will be making its way to the library this weekend.

I agree! Donate your books to the library, they always take them. Otherwise I've used paperbackswap before to get rid of them, but that takes time.

Bravo on the purge!

Good for you sporting your old shirt. #hotbod

Hey - let me know if you find a spot to donate books - I'm clearing out my library & have about 100 books I'm getting rid of.

Nothing like a good cleaning purge - spring is the best time to do it, too! Can't believe the move will be here so soon. And I want that french toast!!

That shrimp salad looks amazing! Good for you for being so productive!

I love cereal dinners! It looks like you packed two weekends into one, you did so much. It is so exciting to think of where your next adventures will lead you. For donating books, you could probably give the John Wesley one to your church library and you could donate the rest to Goodwill? I purged a ton of books last year, and that's where all of mine ended up. It is so hard to get rid of books, but they are definitely something worth sorting through!

Such a productive and fun weekend! Do you have a half price books or something similar? They had one when I lived in Austin and i make about $10 when I purged the books to move back home!

Fun, yet productive weekend. Sounds like you need a weekend from my weekend.

Yay for purging, that is one of my favorite things to do when it comes to moving. I always feel so much better when it's done.

Ahhh getting rid of stuff is the best feeling ever. Soo insanely therapeutic! Go you! Isn't it also amazing when you realize you still fit into stuff you owned YEARS ago!? That's not exactly my case right now, but I'm getting there, haha!

I hate how moving can feel overwhelming but go you for the progress! I did a closet purge this weekend too (don't forget to track it all for tax write offs next year!). Your sushi looks soo good and I'm loving the dark lip shade on you, hottie ;)

That's so crazy that you're moving next month and that the goodbyes have already started! If they're anything like your Friday night, then you'll definitely be having a great time! Way to go on purging and getting rid of a lot of stuff! It's funny how moving can really make you get rid of things!

holy moly, talk about a productive weekend! look how much you got rid of. isn't it the best to have someone to text with a maybe? i ask KC and he's like 'sure, whatever, eh' and i'm like you're no help!!! haha.

i normally donate my books to goodwill or one of those free little libraries, though to be honest that one's out of my way and i'm lazy.

SUSHI looks amazing. yum!

Wow, you got so much done this weekend! I apologize, I've been a terrible blog reader lately (seriously, NEED MORE HOURS in a day!) so I must have missed an announcement about your move?! When and where to!? Bittersweet I'm sure but change can be so exciting!
That French toast look amaaaazing, and so does the sushi. Can you tell I haven't eaten dinner yet? haha! Also for the books, check with your local library if they'll take donations. If not, maybe a high school or if there's a nearby homeless shelter, they might want them?

Nikki @ makeupHER said...

Holy cow girl you totally did good this weekend!! Between all the yummy food, dancing and purging, I don't know how you are not drinking 3 large coffee's! My purging weekend is next weekend and I'm beyond excited to do so!! I would suggest looking into your local library, most take donated books :)!

I hate that you're having to say goodbye to your friends, but it's nice to live in the internet age where they're only a skype/facetime date away. You did awesome with your purging!
