It was definitely a weak Halloween over here in Pinkland. We both felt way too old to dress up and go out with all the youngins [I remember those days well, doubt I could hang anymore] and we don't have kids so trick or treating was kind of a no go too. So, we did a whole lot of nothing Halloween related. I mean, we did watch the Great Pumpkin, but that's about it. No candy, no treats [still eating clean] and no wine [WAAAAAAAAH]!
This weekend I…
… drank my morning coffee out of Le Husband's super cute mug. #thief
… watched the USA Women's Gymnastic Team win the World Championships in Glasgow. Y'all, we have an incredible team and I am STOKED for our chances in Rio. #USA
… wore my new Gap sweater [thanks Kristen] and had to capture the beautiful fall leaves on my parent's walkway. I love when leaves drop still red and orange, they just look so lovely.
… despite my complete FEAR OF FLYING, I can't help but be enthralled when airplane disaster documentaries are on television. This episode was about a flight that crashed into the 14th Street bridge over the Potomac river in 1982. I drive the bridge quite frequently and had only heard various snippets about the accident.
Not pictured:
+ Two glorious afternoon naps. The nap time and chill time we've had the past few weekends has been incredible and it is so nice to feel ahead and rested at the beginning of the weekend instead of playing catch up on Monday. #thankyouchilltime #almostover
+ A viewing of the Great Pumpkin, man I love that movie.
+ Christmas card prepping started. #overachievermuch
+ Fun workout shirt crafts. #whoneedssleeves
+ Our last kickball practice of the season. It was a pretty good one until someone decided to get petty about something and then the tone totally changed. I hope everyone gets it together before tournament time.
+ Communion prep with Sportyspice. It makes for an early morning but it's always fun with her.
+ Possibly my last soccer game with my team. Post on that jazz to come later this month.
How was your weekend? Did you go out for Halloween? Was it fun? Do you think I'm super lame?

ReplyDeleteGood for you for keeping with the clean eating even through Halloween!!! Sounds like a great relaxing weekend, and even though the holiday is over, I still need to watch The Great Pumpkin :)
ReplyDeleteGirl, Halloween was lame for us before we had kids, ha ha! But those naps you enjoyed?! Hard to do once you have kids so I would say it made up for lack of Halloween fun ;) ha ha! Seriously though, sounds like a great weekend!! I need your over achievingness to rub off on me! I haven't even started James' birth announcement, ugh!!
ReplyDeleteLOVE watching gymnastics too! I could watch it all day! ha Hope you had a good weekend!
ReplyDeleteuh i totally jumped on that nap train yesterday! well mainly bc i had a bit too much fun on halloween haha. i cant believe you'd watch the airplane stuff girl! i am a nervous flier (even though i've flown a lot) and i still couldn't do it. scarier than a scary movie lol.

We didn't go out either and we barely were able to dress up our baby. Sometimes low key weekends are the best. Also, I am glad to know that other people are thinking about Christmas cards!
ReplyDeleteYour weekend sounds pretty much like our weekend, but sometimes the low key weekends are the best! It's been forever since we've watched Charlie Brown and the Great Pumpkin, so maybe we need to add it to our list for next year! Major props to you for already starting on Christmas cards! I definitely need to get on the holiday prep train sooner rather than later!
ReplyDeletechristmas card prepping = win!! do you DIY your cards? if so, SHOW ME. i love DIY cards. each year, my friends and i have an "old hen party" which means we all get together with our craft stuff and make christmas cards!
ReplyDeleteHaha over achiever with the Christmas cards? No way!! Start early and enjoy the month of December :)
ReplyDeleteI won't put anything up until after Thanksgiving, but I have already started doing a little shopping.
Love the two glorious naps! Haha
We put together a "haunted house" with some lights and background music for our trick or treaters. It was fun. I was pretty lame before I met Jose and Emily! Haha you'll enjoy Halloween more once the kids come ;)
Love the sweater. Missed the gymnastics, and was bummed about it. What? Soccer? Need deets.
ReplyDeleteYour weekend sound just about perfect! Relaxing, even though there was barely any halloweening for you. The great pumpkin is a must watch during Halloween so I think you won there.
ReplyDelete& I missed the Gymnastics world Championship but is it DVRd and waiting to be watched.
Happy Monday ♥
Naps are the best, but I feel like I'm doing it too often on the weekends. Do you ever feel guilty about naps? I love USA gymnastics!! We have some reallllly talented girls! Thanks for coming back to link up today!

Oh my gosh your sweater is so cute! And is it lame if I got giddy to hear you're working your Christmas cards?! I am trying to plan a day when the hubs and I can get that done and he thinks I'm nuts because it's November. But I'm like, 'come on dude, we gotta get those puppies in the mail pretty soon!' Glad you and I are on the same level ;)
ReplyDeleteHow did I not know there was a gymnastics competition this weekend?!?! Oh my goodness I LOVE watching those meets.

Aww it sounds like you had a great weekend! I love Charlie Brown so that definitely makes it Halloween worthy! I absolutely loveeee when leaves are that deep orange/reddish color, so beautiful.
ReplyDeleteWe passed out candy and then came inside to play Wii games and watch random scary movies on Netflix ;) Hehe- low key is the way to be!
ReplyDeleteSign me up for any weekend that involves afternoon naps I'll tell you what!
ReplyDeleteI love watching gymnastics and can't wait for the olympics!
ReplyDeleteI definitely don't think you're lame because our weekend was about the same :) So bummed that I didn't realize gymnastics were on - easily my favorite part about the Olympics and that makes me so excited to hear the US is doing well already! Happy Monday, friend!
ReplyDeleteSounds like a nice low key weekend! And afternoon naps are the bomb! Nothing better than a weekend when you arrive on Monday full rested!
ReplyDeleteAnnie- All Things Big And Small
With those two long afternoon naps, I am officially jealous of your weekend!
ReplyDeleteHa! We totally didn't do anything Halloween related either. I'm not creative with costumes and I don't think the husband minds not dressing up!

Sounds like a great weekend to me! And I am fascinated by gymnastics. It's always been something I wanted to do but didn't have those skills. Haha. :)
