Since today's #Blogtober14 prompt is "the best/worst vacation ever", I thought I'd share a snap shot of the best vacation of my LIFE! For those of you that weren't around in the beginning, this summer my grandfather took my family on an incredible Alaskan adventure. We spent two days in the Yukon, then cruised the Alaskan coast for seven days and ended up in Vancouver, CA. My family left from Vancuvour, but Le Husband and I extended our trip and finally took our honeymoon. We did Revelstoke, Banff and Calgary and had an amazing time. The whole trip was just incredible and I highly, HIGHLY suggest everyone drop their next vacation and book one to Alaska.
Seriously, Alaska is the most beautiful state in the United States and offers so much that we lack here in our concrete jungles. I honestly would LOVE to live there, despite the cold. Yes, Miss I Like It Hot wants to live in the cold.
On our Alaskan vacation we ATV-ed, stayed up with the sun until 2am, rode the famous Alaskan railroad, arctic white water rafted, saw Denali mountain, visited a nature preserve, saw moose, eagles and bears, cruised the most beautiful ocean ever, zip lined the fastest zip line in North America, ate delicious food, saw whales, rode in an helicopter, went on a dog sled ride on a glacier, participated in fun events on the ship, watched the USA World Cup game, ate some more, hiked multiple trails, rode a tram, got a massage, went in the hot tub, watched planes take off from the water, toured amazing ports, ate and ate and ate and had the most amazing trip.
I promise I'll finish my recaps, but here is a quick, small look at the best vacation ever!
Babyspice made an awesome video of our trek through Tracy's Arm. It gives y'all an amazing glimpse of Alaska's beauty. I re-watched it and now I miss Alaska so much. Check out the video and BOOK YOUR ALASKAN CRUISE NOW! You will THANK ME LATER, I promise!

ReplyDeleteLove! My husband and I are obsessed with Alaska, even though neither of us have been. We often talk about moving there, and watch reruns of Buying Alaska, Gold Rush (LOVE little Parker's Grandpa), and Alaska: The Last Frontier. We thought about doing a two week cruise, but decided it'd be better to fly out for a couple weeks and explore via vehicle. Awesome pictures!
