Wandering in Music City

[source]
I have a love/hate relationship with Nashville. I grew up a Knoxville gal [thanks Mama B], but since 2010 the aura of Nashville called to my heart. Le Husband and I decided back in our first year of dating, we were going to pick up and move to good ol Music City. Clearly that has yet to happen. Unfortunately due to jobs and unfulfilled promise the move has been placed on the back burner multiple times and now doesn't seem to be in the cards at all. But, I am not dwelling on the situation today, trust me, that is a post for another time [one that is in the works].

Anyway, I love me some Nashvegas. Seriously, Music City has become one of THE destination cities in  recent years and for good reason in my opinion. There is so much to do, see, eat and drink in Nashville. Every time I visit I have a blast and I'm quite bummed I don't have many of my own pictures to share. You see, every time we've visited Nashville we've stayed with Le Husband's friends and therefore we are also balancing quality friend time with exploring the city time. Don't get me wrong, we've done some damage on the Nashville strip at Tootsie's, Acme Feed & Seed [SUCH a fun bar] and other bars, but we aren't in the city the entire time. I really want to take the time to explore the Grand Ol Opry, the museums and of course, hit up a Predator's game. #maybeillgettoseecarrieunderwoodtoo

My favorite trip to Nashville was our trip back in 2014. We had a kickball tournament in August and the team we played on was STACKED like no other. It was a great tournament and we won which made it even better. Not only did we do it right on the field, we did it right in the restaurants, too. Yelp helped us stumble upon Urban Grub and we enjoyed one of top ten meals that night. Y'all the food was out of this world and the dessert was foodgasmic. I plan on making a repeat visit the next time we're in town, my mouth is watering just thinking about our meal, yummy!
Lobster BLT flatbread, lamb chops with purred cauliflower, homemade single chocolate meringue, homemade vanilla doughnuts and chocolate covered bacon. DIVINE!
Our next visit is closely on the horizon, however it is extremely kickball heavy so I'm not sure how much of Nashville we are actually going to be able to see. But, for those of you who have been, what are your MUST DOs in Nashville? If you haven't been, is Nashville on your list?

  11. I've only visited once and I fell in love! I so want to take my husband back and would love to take a girls trip with my oldest daughter. I have a friend from high school who lives there and she drove us out to Franklin which was such a fun little town. The drive was beautiful too.

  13. I love love love love Nashville. My hubby and I went for the first time in January for a concert and had a blast. We were only there for about 2 days... but it was great. I can't wait to go back someday. We loved ACME feed and seed too. I would love to do more of the touristy stuff when we go back, and keep exploring the food scene. Hot Chicken...yum. XO -Alexandra

  16. love this post girl! saving it for the one day we hopefully make it back. i've been twice - once for the CMA fest (tons of fun, don't remember where we ate or anything and didn't do much except for the CMA fest) and the second time things happened that cut our night out short so it was basically drive down there, get ready to go out, eat pizza, head out for 10 minutes, go back to the hotel and sleep, leave early morning lol. it's so close to us that i know we can get away for a long weekend, it's just a matter of choosing when (and also, probably a matter of not planning any other trips!) lol.

  19. I have been to Nashville a few times and love it!!! There are so many fun places to go. I loved walking down by the river. They had a booze cruise that they do at night that looks like SO MUCH FUN! I haven't been on it but Chris and I said next time we go we are doing it. I loved breakfast at Noshville, and I wish I could remember some of the other restaurants we ate at because they were fabulous! Burger Up and Baja Burrito (maybe??)were two of the places I for sure enjoyed. Driving by Vanderbilt was pretty.

  20. I LOVE love love Nashville!! I've been twice so far and both times had the best experience! Acme was one of our favorite bars when we were there earlier this summer :) When you go back, you have to do the Bluebird Cafe if you haven't yet!
