Loooooooooove to LOVE YOU, BABY

Happy almost pink&red day my lovely friends. Sunday is the day to celebrate LOVE, but I'm celebrating it today in place of my normal favorites. I want to celebrate all the kinds of love out there.

Love of your family! Love of your friends! Love of your coworkers! Love of humanity! Love of YOURSELF! I haven't always been a Valentinte's day lover [shocking right?!!? I did always love the celebration of pink though]. My parents always made the day fun with flowers, chocolates or some kind of a gift when we were growing up.

I never felt UNLOVED because of St. Valentine, but being in high school on the 14th wasn't
always the most fun. [Who wouldn't feel a bit jealous of the girls walking in the hallways with multiple bouquets, balloons and chocolates?!] Even when I was dating, I was never a big Valentine's day girl. I would rather have a random flower on a Tuesday in July, than a gift on the 14th because you felt obligated to get me something [come on ladies, let's give the dudes a break].

However, in the past few years I've become more of an enjoyer if you will.

I just LOVE
LOVE!

I firmly believe that love makes the world go round, so why not celebrate it, if only for a day. So today, even if you're not a fan, love those around you no matter your 'romantic status'.

If you are single:
...get a pedicure...take a bubble bath...put on a girlie movie...tell your friends and family how much they mean to you...get drinks with your girlfriends...tell bad dating stories...celebrate being able to do WHATEVER YOU WANT TO DO...

If you are attached:
...write a sweet note...don't set expectations to high...tell your friends and family how much they mean to you...take a moment to be thankful for the special S/O in your life...tell them how much you care...enjoy the small and simple things your relationship has to offer...

This weekend Le Husband and I will be enjoying a fun couples dinner on Saturday night but other than that it will just be a normal weekend. If you have big plans I hope everything works out perfectly for you and if you aren't doing anything big I hope your 14th is wonderful too. Single or attached, don't forget I love you and there's NOTHING you can do about it < 3!

That's so awesome that your parents used to get all sorts of goodies for y'all to make you feel loved! My mom would always have a little something for us, and I hope to do the same thing when we have kids. It sounds like you have a great weekend planned, and I hope you have the best time with everybody celebrating the day of love!

Yes to all of this!! I remember my grandma always getting me a card and something sweet like a stuffed animal or chocolate. I don't really go overboard, but we make it fun for sure!! Have a lovely Valentine's Day!

I like the "dont set expectations" - some people just take the holiday to extreme... I'm happy with a hug & I love you :) Chocolate doesnt hurt though :) #truethat

I've never been big on Valentines Day either, but I love your ideas of not setting expectations and just loving those around you. I'm much more of a flowers just because girl. They mean so much more in July than on Feb 14th. Happy Friday gurlie <3

Love this girl! Any excuse for pink and red is great! I'd much rather get a gift on a random day then on Valentine's Day. I hope you have a fabulous, love-filled weekend!

Happy Love day to EVERYONE!! :) Jared and I always find a fun/creative way to celebrate at home which I love. Much cheaper than fancy restaurants and lets be honest- I don't feel like getting dressed up and going out when its this cold out ;)

Awh I love it!! I am also not a HUGE valentines lover but it makes it much easier since it is Jason's birthday :) Then I get to love him extra! But I agree, there shouldn't be just one day to love our loved ones extra! I hope you and your husband have a wonderful weekend and a fun couples dinner, those are always so fun!!
