What's New With You {Linkup}

[source]

Work: As mentioned before, a lady at my work went on maternity leave at the end of January and I'm covering half of her work load. Did I mention it's the important crucial part of her load? Have I mentioned the influx of emails in my inbox and the new tracking systems implemented? Or the high profile titles that continue to have issues that I have to stay on top of daily? No?! Oh, that's because more of my day has been eaten up by work and it's draining my blogging and responding time at work. Which honestly sucks, big time. Clearly work time is work time, but I've always been able to balance some blog time at work or on calls. Hopefully things will calm down a bit in the next few weeks and I can find a new balance. I miss chatting with y'all daily and hope none one things I'm ignoring them. #newbalanceinfebruary

Health: Overall it's good which I can't complain about. I know yesterday I wrote about eating clean but this week has been a bit of a mess so my food prep  and clean eating took a bit of a hit. Which means my energy and attitude hit bottom. I was so out of sorts I didn't even eat dinner last night and felt fine which is strange. Normally I'm always hungry at meal times, however I think abundance of crap food has thrown my body for a loop and so I'm suffering. What's crazy is the fact my weight hasn't fluctuated. Usually this week would be a recipe for five extra ell bees yet everything is staying the same. Honestly, I have to thank teaching. All of the classes and practicing has revved up the metabolism and I'm finally feeling happy and good with the number on the scale and the way my clothes fit.

Life: January flew by in a blink and all of a sudden here we are in the first week of February. Don't get me wrong, I'm quite excited for this week {especially this weekend} and am happy to put cold snowy January in the review mirror. However, it suddenly feels like there is NEVER enough time to get anything done. Maybe it has to do with the fact I'm trying to learn three new BODYPUMP releases in two weeks. Or the fact I'm trying to get to bed at a decent time while also getting up to do yoga. Or maybe I feel like future plans are still in the air and I'm grasping at everything to put it all in place. Don't get me wrong, I'm happy and blessed and healthy which is a win/win/win in life, but I still feel stressed and a bit all over the place. I think a weekend of girl time and maybe a few drinks is just the key to figuring it all out and wooosahing back to normal.

So there you go, that's what's new with me. What's new with you?

You have a lot going on! But at least the days are getting longer and I always feel like there is more time on the day when the sun stays out longer. You got this!

I feel like our weight is on a delay. Like if we eat a lot of junk this week, we'll notice it next week. And this would explain why it takes time to notice positive change. Maybe that's just me!

Glad your classes are going well! I still wish I could take one!

Good luck with balancing working/blogging. I used to be able to do a lot of stuff at work, too, but it seems like things have reved up and I am not sure if it will go back to the same. Let me know if you have any tips! I hope you get those drinks this weekend...sounds like it is much needed and deserved!

thank you so much for linking up with gretch and i girl!

i am so sorry you are so busy right now, jeepers. i feel like you always have a lot on your plate normally (in a good way, you're awesome!) so i bet extra work and taking on all the body pump is adding unnecessary stress. but that is so awesome you are happy with the number on the scale and the how your clothes fit - seriously, that's awesome girl. high fives! hope life calms down a bit soon.

Eeekkk so much going on, friend! I hope things slow down a little bit for you and you're able to do what you want/need to without being in overdrive. Have a wonderful day today! xx

It's tough covering for someone on maternity leave, but at least you have it. My job doesn't offer any maternity leave benefits at all and it's really frustrating to think of what that means down the road! I would gladly take on a new mom's workload, knowing that they would be able to do the same for me!

EEEKK I get to see you tomorrow!!! I am so excited!!! I have no clue what you posted about other than January being gone.

I'm definitely feeling those similar overwhelming feelings and they can be stressful! Stress than = eating terribly, so I'm right there with ya! Hope things start to slow down for you soon!

Boo about all the added work and stress, hopefully you find a balance soon!! I can't believe how fast Jan flew by either, I have to keep reminding myself it's February!

Emily said...

Oh man, sounds like a lot was just added to your plate! Hope that becomes more balance out for ya so you can focus on other stuff and feel balanced yourself. *hugs*

Ugh, covering for people at work is always horrible. I've been there before and it is STRESSFUL. Hopefully you can find a new balance for the remaining time that she's gone! Hang in there!

I feel like when work gets stressful, the rest of life seems to feel extra stressful too! =\ Hope things calm down for you on that front soon, and definitely get those girls/drinks in your weekend plans asap!!

Where does the time go??? When work is crazy it tends to bleed into your every day life even if you don't work more hours. It drains you a little more and tends to take over more of your thoughts. Hope you dig out soon!!

oooh that work situation sounds stressful. I got pulled into a new job in May and it's been a really hard transition, recently my supervisor was diagnosed with cancer (again).. so that's made it much harder emotionally, and work-wise. I hope that you are able to find a rhythm you feel comfortable with at some point soon. We've been doing better eating at home and more healthfully in January.. this week has been a difficult one.. but overall we're still doing better! XO -Alexandra

oh man, sorry about work! I heard that. It's always so hard to get a whole extra load of work on top of your normal difficult one!

I've been feeling that way about life lately, too... the "rushed" feeling and like there's never enough time. I'm hoping it's just the after effects of the holidays... we're so busy during them that it takes a bit to feel "normal" again afterwards.

If anyone deserves a weekend, it's for sure you girl!

It's always so tough to adjust to such a huge change at work. When it comes to clean eating, things can get a little too crazy busy during the week so I just make sure I have everything I need in the fridge and then prep as I need it. Haha. Those who have the time to prep for one or two whole weeks...I bow down to them lol.

So basically what you're saying is you are actually super woman, right?! Seriously you have so much going on but you are handling it like it's nothing! Like, obviously work is a lot more crazy with taking over for that lady while she is on leave but it sounds like you are doing awesome with it!! I cannot wait till I have the energy to workout again! I'm jealous that you teach all those classes aka stay in amazing shape!
