Things I'm Too Old For

Drama. Friend drama, family drama, work drama, life drama. Just NO! Stay away, please.

Staying out way past my bedtime. I like sleep, I hate feeling like death after a late night so thanks for the invite, but I'll be at home. In my bed asleep and happy. #gottagetthatbeautysleep

Littering. Don't be a jerk to our planet.

More than two glasses of wine a night. #howsadisthat

Ex-friends People playing the breakup game. You know what I'm talking about, right? You stop talking to someone and they reach out via email and comments for two weeks before they get the hint and then all of a sudden, it becomes they DROPPED you?! Seriously, move on, it's over. #cantkicksomeonewhostoppedtalkingtoyoufirst

Painful shoes. When I was in my 20s I wore the 4+ inch heels CONSTANTLY and LOVED it. Seksi sky high shoes were my vice and I rocked them whenever possible. Now, if I wear 2 inch heels I consider them high, haha. I love pretty shoes, but they have to be comfy too. #helloflatsandwedges

People pleasing just because. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy making people happy and not rocking the boat, but long gone are the days of just doing what people say out of fear of confrontation.

Being the butt of every joke around certain people. We've all been there before [maybe] but now that I'm in my 30s I don't need to be around people that try to bring me down. Jokes are one thing but nasty comments, yeah no thanks.

Soccer games after 9pm. I can't DO IT CAPTAIN. My body won't shut down quickly after the game and I'm a mess the next day. Call the waaaaaahbulance but I'm gonna have to stay home after 10pm.

Using text speak in chats, texts or comments. Sorry, using tho instead of though over the age of 30 just looks lazy. I understand using brb, sys, lol {I like haha better}, gm and ty in conversations at work and on text to save time but find it quite silly in any form of writing.

Not wiping down gym equipment once done. 1] EW and 2] EWWWWWWWW! #sweatisgross

I'm seriously the most horrible person the next day if I'm not in bed by my bedtime! I need my beauty sleep! And what is up with people still being into all of the high school drama! I hate it so much! You're 100% right about not wiping down the gym equipment. Ewwww!!!!!

Haha, I may have been too old for most of this a long time ago!! Soo over drama and another thing I don't enjoy are clubs - way to loud and crowded. Even for New Years I'm much happier at home with a few people over haha. - I'm an old soul haha

HA! Oh my goodness YES to all of this! ESPECIALLY the being the butt of people's jokes. I mean come one at what point do some people grow up? I also have to admit I am good with one glass of wine or any drink for that matter. LIGHTWEIGHT right here!

Yes to all of these! I got no time for drama. I cut out all toxic, drama mama friends last year. It was one of the best decisions I ever made. I need my 8 hours of sleep or not, or I else I can barely function. haha

Could not agree with you more about drama - No thanks! Games at 9:00pm on a "school night"? Again no thank you! And I couldn't agree with you more on "friends" in the blogosphere who out of no where stopped responding and commenting, but you see them everywhere else. I just laugh when I see their fakeness now, ok vent over!

And you are winning all the prizes with the Real Housewives and Blair Waldorf gifs <3

Yes to all of these! Life is too short for drama, fake friends, and painful shoes!

I was too old for drama the day I was born. I think some people invite it and give it room to sit their whole lives or they are never comfortable with it. If you're too old for it now, if you really think about it you were probably never comfortable with it!

I was supposed to try a new to me 8:30 zumba class last night...I need to be realistic, I will never want to go to that class. Time to find another alternative.

I will stop commenting on blogs that stop resonating with me repeatedly, but do you mean like people are talking about you after? What?!

Yes to all of it! Ahh sometimes I wonder at what point I started to get old. Probably when I stopped closing down bars and needed to be in bed. To me getting older means more sleep and less drama!

I see people in heels & looking miserable sometimes & I'm like, Poor you as I walk by in my flat comfy shoes :)

Yep - I need my sleep now too. I have friends that call & ask us to go out to dinner on week nights at 8pm - I'm like, my husband is already asleep at that point & I'm already in jammies.

ha-ha if it hits 9pm we won't even go to the gym, I can't imagine intramural sports and socializing with people on top of that, and after game beers. eek. I'm too old, too.

Also, I'm about ready to wipe down my equipment before I use it after all the people I see that don't wipe down after!

I never want to stay out late either-- it really does mess you up for the rest of the day/week if you get off a somewhat normal sleep schedule!

Any type of drama is never fun and I'm all about comfy shoes!! It's so gross when people don't wipe down the equipment at the gym after they use it. Ugh!

Missy said...

Ugh Drama is the worst! I run away from it. The no wipe down at the gym grosses me out too!

I had to nod in agreement to every single one of these, you picked out great gifs too. And the whole text speak, yes! We're too old for that. I hate when people use the number 4 for for...haha. Oh and I'm a haha girl too.

Kristen @ See You In A Porridge said...

yes to all of the above. people who don't wipe down equipment are disgusting. weird friends playing the breakup game? what is even the point. adults who act like teenagers annoy me. also, people putting me down for the fun of it.. yeah, bye felicia. and text speak annoys me so much haha.

Amen girlfriend!! I don't have time for drama or getting walked on/not speaking up for myself! Can't please 'em all!!

emily @ a little bit of emily said...

YES! To all of these. Especially the drama. I thought things would slow down as I got older, but there is so much drama still. Over it.

I can't do late nights either, especially during the week! It's like my body just decides to shut down after like 8pm. I used to love wearing high heels too but I need flats these days!

Mrs. Southern Mama said...

I am passionately annoyed by people who litter. Something about it feels SO WRONG. Amen, sister!

Christina Lea Loves said...

No time for drama. I actually have no energy for most things after 9pm haha!

Laura Darling said...

I can't do late nights either. Or going out on weeknights, really at all. It messes with my routine. I am so old.

Omgosh.. Drama is so high school, I love staying away :)

LMW said...

Ok, we need to chat.

Drama = bye felicia!

Yes! People say I'm such a grandma, but I'm sorry I like to sleep, I may be home and stay up till 12am but lordy, I haven't been out that late for a long time. I have a child, I worked all day, I'm tired :(

I have a few of those people in my life where they pop in and out...we don't even see each other they just want to chat and then pop out of my life...

Blair Waldorf gifs are the funniest.

YES to all of them... and definitely to my unofficial bed time. I SUCK at staying up late now... and if I do... I HATE MYSELF THE NEXT DAY. I have the worst and weirdest sleep issues. It's ridiculous. Save the drama for your llama because I don't have time for that!

Jessica (The Newly) said...

No, no, HECK no to drama. Not at this point in our lives. And sadly, the stilettos rarely make an appearance in my life these days - but thank God for wedges!!! Silver linings, right?
