Not All [Your] Days Are Sunny

But, that doesn't mean I can't look to the sunshine of others!

The past few days have been a bit, um, on the annoying side, I guess you would say. Nothing major obviously, and with everything I know others [dear friends] are dealing with I feel dumb whining. Yet, I can't keep the cursor off the computer screen, so it is what it is for me.

I'm dealing with the most random injury annoyance right now and it's driving me nuts. Somehow, earlier this week I strained TRICEPS on my left arm?!? Yes, my triceps? Who does that? And who does that without knowing how?!? I'll tell you, this girl right here.

Now, you might be thinking, 'That's not too bad' and normally, I'd agree with you. However, I can't lift my left arm level with my shoulder, without feeling a major twinge and that has been making life a bit difficult. I can't reach high on the shelf with my left hand, can't put any weight on my left arm [aka can't do yoga] and can't reach clothes to pack my suitcase.

Oh yeah, did I forget to mention that I have a GI-NOR[HUGE]MOUS kickball tournament in my very near future?!?! This hurt arm thingamujig needs to move on, post immediatehaste. Oh and if the injury could whisk the sniffles/allergies/sickness away too, I'd be forever grateful.

Before you leave, thinking I'm a crazy kickball girl [which I am] that only complains about her problems [I'm not I swear], I want to [confess] a lil secret. Well, secret might not be the best word, but one of the keys to my usually always optimistic attitude. When my day isn't going so well and is cloudy, I look to my friends for the sun. And by the sun, I mean their sun. Their happiness, their joys and the wonderful things that is going on in their life. It helps me remember that while I'm feeling a bit down for the count, others are experiencing incredible joys, so life can't really be that bad.

Babies seem to be in the water everywhere, am I right? Don't go looking in my bath water for one quite yet, though, I'm quite content just being a wifey. However, the abundance of babies makes my heart smile. I know so many friends that have shared amazing news or are on the brink of sharing incredible news [so exciting], but I, like many women, have some friends that only know struggle when it comes to starting a family.

Thankfully one of my dear blog friends is no longer struggling and I am beyond over the mooooooooon excited for her. I started reading Allison's blog a few years ago, right when she started sharing her infertility struggle. It wasn't something I could empathize with, since I'm not in that stage of life, but I could sympathize with her struggle and could hear her pain in her words. I've been praying for her sweet family for awhile and literally, JUMPED FOR JOY when I saw this picture on her blog.

I mean, how can I stay grumpy about my lil ol injury when a dear friend's dream of being a mommy has been realized? I really can't right?! Right!

Today, I'm looking to the sun of my friends, to remind myself that something might be troubling me today, but others are experiencing great joy. Wanna help me out?!! Tell me the amazing things going on in your life right now. My triceps could use you ;)!

  16. Girl, I'm right there with you on the injury train. I always injure the most random muscles. I strained my neck jokingly trying to lift 130 lb dumbbell. I wasn't even really trying to lift it, I was being theatrical! Hope you feel better soon. And congrats to your friends on their pregnancies!

  21. It's super funny when we realize how much we use our muscles in our everyday lives once we injure them. Not that yours is funny by any means! Because that sounds super painful and unpleasant.

I've realized the same thing on pregnancy announcements! Three girls that I follow on Instagram have announced that they are pregnant.

  22. These days have been annoying. I'm going to blame it on the Full Moon. Things always seem a little off when we have one.

  25. Yay for your friend and the baby. Boo for the tricep- that really sucks. I have been dealing with an ongoing injury as well so I can def sympathize.

On a brighter side there will be tons of things you can get done in place of going to the gym - until you can return to the gym. (not really sure that helped!)

  26. It's like when I get aggravated over the small life annoyances is when something so much larger than me comes around and smacks me over the head. Such exciting news on the baby front!!!!!
