Brrrrrrr… it's Baseball Season

Morning, kit kats. Today's post is a quick one because I'm extremely exhausted from this weekend. Le Husband and I drove down to south to watch his college team play a weekend series. The drive wasn't too bad, but the cold and change in time has my body all out of sorts. Hopefully a good nights sleep tonight will get me back to normal. I do have to say, that eating Whole 30 on the road is tough, but it definitely  helped me from feeling extremely sluggish all weekend.

This weekend I …

… was incredibly thankful for a Friday snow day that kept everyone off the road. We were able to head west in less than thirty minutes which is unheard of in the area. So thankful for no traffic.

… ate dinner at a diner that was decent but smelled nachos the entire time. I didn't want them, but it didn't help my grilled chicken taste any better.

… passed out after the drive.

… woke up, got ready and headed to meet the team at their hotel.

… endured a bit of a breakfast debacle due to places being closed. #frustratingbutwemadeitwork

… watched the afternoon game, then went home to put on extra layers.

… was proud to wear all my Kent State gear and new Ray Bans.

… froze my lil tushie off at the night game because of the stupid wind. #pinkypopsicle

… drank my weight in black coffee even though all I wanted was a hot cocoa.

… rocked my Firmoo glasses because the night lights gave off a weird glare. #glassesagain

… provided dinner for the team after the game. Unfortunately the game ran long [and they lost] so our awesome plan wasn't as awesome as we hoped. But, the guys were extremely gracious and we think they enjoyed our surppsies of sugar cookies :)! #steakspotatoesbreadsaladanddessert

… ate breakfast and IHOP and stayed on my program. You may think we tortured ourselves, but IHOP has awesome omlettes and after Saturday's debacle we were ready for great bfast. #notdisappointed #justwantedalatte

… realized how many empty calories I would have consumed if I wasn't doing Whole30. This whole process has been extremely enlightening about my diet and how I handle my cravings. #whoknew

… watched four innings of the Sunday game. #stillcoldwiththewind

… drove home and hit Wegmans on the way. Hooray for shopping done of the week.

… came home and meal prepped even though all I wanted to do was take a nap.

… played in a 10pm soccer game. #woof

how was your weekend? did you do anything fun?

  2. Sounds like you had a busy weekend! Props to you for being such a good fan and sitting out in the freezing cold! I don't think I could do it... especially not on straight black coffee either! Hot cocoa definitely sounds better. Happy Monday girl!

  8. What a busy weekend!! I haven't been to a college baseball game in ages, but I always loved walking down the hill to go while I was in school. You are seriously the best for getting all that food together. Have a great week.

  9. Awe! So fun!! We can't wait for work to slow down for Eric so that we can go to a spring training game already!
Also, you are freakin' super woman!! Good job sticking to whole 30 while out of town! I just don't have the will power (nor do I want it at the moment) to stay away from the nachos, hot chocolate or carbs ;) You're amazing!!

  11. Missed seeing you this weekend, but glad you had a good time. You need to get a snapchat for weekends where we're both having fun in different cities!!
Also, I've discovered a kale, banana, pineapple & coconut milk smoothie recipe that's deeeelicious (plus it makes me think of summer & warmer weather). Not sure if it's on your Whole30 list but if so you should definitely try it!

  12. Oh I would have to agree that eating in places that constantly smell like something do turn off the experience. Looks like you had a pretty good weekend!

Stopping by from Mingle Monday :)

  19. Totally agree with Lisa; a road trip is the perfect time that most diets end up being sabotaged so bravo for making it work! So sweet of y'all to make dinner. Hopefully the boys pull of a win next time. :)
