Sports on Sleep on Sports

Hello, pretty things! How are you doing today? Did you have a great weekend? I sure hope you did and I hope you're ready to get after it today. I ALSO HOPE all of y'all are tuning into the USA Women's World Cup game, tonight at 6:30pm. Set the DVRs y'all, it's gonna be good!

This weekend was a bit ridiculous, just check it. This weekend I…

…drove hope with the sun roof open and the country tunes blasting. It was first sunny day all week and I was so excited to finally roll with the windows down. #summer

… only finished half of my workout because my body was so dunzo from workouts this week. #old

… finally went to see Pitch Perfect 2 with the sissyboos. It was everything a PP sequel should be and if you liked the original you enjoy the sequel. DSM is insanely talented and the mashups are were on point.
oh hello recliner seats at the movie theater :)
… came home, watched some baseball, planned our Saturday and passed out!

… slept for 11 hours and it was everything I could have wanted. #bodyneededsleep

… put together a delicious Whole30 breakfast. #twomoredays

… stayed on the couch ALL DAY [yes all day] for a marathon of sports. We started with the College World Series [UVA vs Maryland], then switched to the Champions League Final [Barcelona{winner} vs Juventes]. After the Champions League game we watched the Women's World Cup opener [CAN vs CHN] and caught the last bit of the Belmont Stakes {YAY TRIPLE CROWN WINNER!!!!}. Once  that game was over it back to the CWS with a side of the Stanley Cup Finals game 2. Phew…that's a lot of sports, isn't it? #couchparty #supersportsfan #ilovesports

… created a Whole30 legal dessert of grilled peaches with an toasted almond and coconut crumble. #yum

… went to bed because let's face it, watching sports is hard ;)!

… woke up early, attended early church, did laundry and then spent a glorious two hours at the pool.

… went home, finished laundry and then headed off to a soccer game. #scoredourfirstgoalwhatwhat

… almost got into two fights at the game. Literally stepped to a dude that pushed my teammate on the ground and then ripped the ish out of another girls shorts because she hacked my ankles one time too many. I may look small, but Pinky aint scurrrred. #notthesizeofthedoginthefight #madethedudestepbackholla

… swiped these gorgeous beauties from Mama B's hydrangea bush. #donttattleonme #sopretty

… watched Le Husband almost finish up our new island. I can't wait to show y'all the final product.

… cut a whole watermelon all by myself. #sooogood #youknowilovewatermelon #biggirlmuscles #icandoit

… prepped meals and lunch for the week.

All in all it was a fabulously sporty weekend and I loved all the extra sleep I was able to acquire. Now I'm ready to get after it with a workout and then watch the USA kick some Australia booty {still love my Aussie friends, though < 3}. I'm rocking my red, white and blue today in support of the game, U-S-A, U-S-A, U-S-A!!!!

How was your weekend? Did you do anything fun? Did you catch up on your sleep?

  1. Thanks for the tip on the women's game tonight - haven't been keeping up.

Sounds like a VERY busy and energetic weekend. 11 hours of sleep, awesome, but you sure needed it.

  6. Whhhhattt?! Recliner seats at the movie theater? Yes please! I usually hate going to the movies because putting my feet on the sticky floor super grosses me out but I think I could get down with a recliner! And love driving with the sunroof open and the tunes blasting. Nothing better on a summer day!

  11. Love the recliner seats at the movies! Such a great way to see a movie. Nothing better than driving with the roof open and the windows open blasting the music. So fun.

  12. I want your peach dessert!! Sounds SO delish!! Your weekend was packed with so much fun... AND good sleep?! Totally jealous, ha ha!
Eric and I actually went to the movies (no recliners, boo!) and got a few minutes into the movie a mom with 2 kids snuck into the 2 chairs next to Eric and I, instead of going down to the front row seats. Did I mention that one of those kids was probably only 3 years old and we were watching Avengers? Not a 3 year old friendly movie! Not to mention the fact that he didn't shut his mouth the whole movie... I wanted to start a fight with her! Our first movie since moving away from family and babysitters... and I didn't even get to enjoy it! (can you tell I'm still peeved? HA!)
I admit that I will cut up a watermelon but I draw the line at pineapples. That's strictly Eric's job, ha ha!
