Rocky Top Vaaaaaa-caaaaaay

Morning and happy Friday, friends. This time last week I was waking up for my first full day of Tennessee vacation and I'm still on "boots and pants" time. Our family has spent a week in Tennessee every summer since I was four years old and it has always been one of the best vacations of the year. My grandfather has a 70 ft houseboat and my aunt and uncle live on the lake so we have basically grown up on the water. This year we had to get creative in timing because everyone was so busy, but after missing Tennessee last year because of our Alaskan adventures we all knew we would do whatever we could to make it work. Everyone came in at different times and there were multiple trips to the airport, but it was all worth it. It was such a fun, relaxing time on the water and brought back fond memories of vacations past. There isn't too much to recap since all our days were pretty similar, but I wanted to highlight some of my favorites for my memory and for y'all.

The Actives - Water play all day errrrday. Vacation on the lake is super laid back, you get up when you want, you eat when you want, but everyone is down by the water. I love tanning on the dock or a raft [got alil too much sun this time], jumping off the big dock, driving the boat and skiing. We all learned to ski at age four and often ski the competition course just for fun. This year our time at the lake was shorter than normal, but I think we all made the best of it by cramming in as much water fun as possible. Lake raft floating and skiing were probably my two favorites this year. #easyandbreezy

Isn't T-bone the cutest thing in the world? #thanksbabyspice

The Views - My aunt and uncle wake up to the most beautiful view every day and I love soaking it in every morning and night when I'm in town. Their deck is one of my favorites spots in their home and waking up with a cup of coffee every morning just starts my day off right. Their dock is positioned beautifully on the lake and it makes for some gorgeous water pictures during the day and in the evenings, too. I get so sad when we leave because the concrete jungle I live in just doesn't cut it after being spoiled by such gorgeous nature.

The Food and Drinks - Lake vacation = no diet = food and drink vacation. Our annual August trip is the one time of year I choose to eat and drink whatever I want, whenever I want. I don't worry about eating healthy and I don't stress about the booze bag calories, I enjoy life and that means food. Monkey bread for breakfast? YES! Doritos and dip at lunch? Of course! Bread with dinner and dessert? HECK YES! Even though everyone is on their own schedule we try to eat together whenever possible. This year it was fun having Le Husband on the trip [ YES, he made it after being told NO earlier #cuehappydance] and he was fabulous in the kitchen making breakfast for everyone. Dinners are usually planned in the morning and everyone pitches in at the end of the day to get something delicious on the table.

The Attire - Water living is the best living because it's easy breezy outfit living. Packing for Tennessee is the easiest vacation to pack for because you just need lake clothes, a cute cover up, swimmy suits, one nice outfit if we go out and comfy sweats if it gets cold. Usually the three girls are at the lake together so we always play mix and match with our suits, but this year we had to rely on ourselves. I was super excited to sport my new RW&B suit and of course all my pink. Being make up and hair fuss free for a few days was awesome and I loved living in shorts and a tshirt in the evenings. #lowmaintenanceatitsbest

Randoms - Normally the family takes some time to head to visit Grandma Mo's grave but this year things were so fast and furious my parents were the only ones that got out there to visit. Mama B sent us this picture and even though I wasn't there in person it made me smile because the flowers are so pretty and I know Mo would have loved them.

+ This was Le Husband's second visit with us and I was so thrilled he was actually able to make it down. His boss made it extremly ddifficute but Le Husband was determiend to come on vacation and I am so thankful everything worked out. He skied only twice the last time he was with us, so this year the goal was to get him up on one ski by the end of the trip. The first few days were tough and he drank a lot of lake water, but by the third day he was able to get up and on his last day he had multiple long distance skis. I was so proud of him for conquering something so tricky so fast. #myrockstar

+ The drive to Knoxville is about eight hours and is something we have drive so many times. It is long, but not too long and we all know the ins and outs of the drive. Unfortunately we lose almost a day driving and I almost wasn't able to make the trip because I couldn't' afford both travel days. Luckily, I checked flights and was able to secure a one way ticket early enough Tuesday morning that I was still able to get in a whole work day. It was a teeny plane, which of course made me nervous, however the view flying into DCA was incredible. How amazing is this view?

All in all it was a fantastic time with my family and I'm so sad to be back home. But, such is life and now here we are at the weekend. I'm hoping to just chill after my whirlwind travel and maybe get in some pool time. Do you have anything fun planned? Hope you have a fabulous weekend, bunnies! < 3
