Things I'm Horrible At

[source]
Being patient while sitting in traffic // I am the most irrationally angry driver when there is traffic. I have no patience. Zero! Sitting in traffic causes me to change into a monster and I can't help the curse words that flow from my mouth. If I'm expecting traffic things are better, but unexpected traffic drives me insane.

Cooking rice // I can't cook rice. I either burn it, make it too watery or too dry. I am unbelievably grateful for my rice cooker. And to the person who bought it as a wedding present. #youmighthavesavedthemarriage #jkhedlearntolikenoodles

Kissing my husband only once in the mornings // For whatever reason he gets at least two or three before I leave the house. 99% of the time he is still sleeping and just looks too cute for one kiss. He hasn't complained yet, so if it ain't broke. ;)

Sewing // Need to get better at sewing to fix my own stuff. I recently started an old needlepoint of my grandmothers in hopes it would give me the sewing bug. Only time will tell, so for now I'm sending out an SOS to the BOFF!

Sticking to the list in any store // I don't know why, but I get squirreled at stores every single time. Somehow, someway something I did not put on my list ends up in my cart and at home. #usuallyitsfood

Putting dishes in the dishwasher the way Le Husband expects them to be put away // He has his system and I have mine and no matter what I do he will change it. I have now decided that he gets to load the dishwasher and I'll unload it. I've tried and failed so I'm not hitting my head against the wall anymore.

Packing // I am the world's worst packer. I own it, I embrace it and I continue to over pack. I hate the thought of being somewhere without something I want or without an outfit piece. I also like to change my mind about outfits on a whim so packing more than one for each day is a must. You packing divas need to teach me your ninja tricks.

  3. hahahahahah our "poor husbands" right? I do the same thing with Mark. He's usually half asleep so he doesn't fight me too much on it ;-)

  4. Traffic - I hear you. I change into something I don't care to admit. Especially when they don't use their signals, sets me off. See, I can't even write about it because I feel my blood boiling. Rice - bake it! Although the rice cooker is the best, but baking it, perfect everytime. You are better than I when it comes to kissing. I've been married 29 years, we are lucky we get a goodbye in the morning because we both are in a hurry. Keep the kisses up, they are good for your marriage. Fun post Pinky! Loved the photo. From Home of Malones today.

  5. patience is a big one for me....in traffic or in general!

  6. Totally agree with the patience part. Ugh traffic is the WORST! I get the worst road rage at 5 o'clock! And we are always going back and forth loading the dishwasher. I am so OCD he usually doesn't load it the way I like, whoops. Working on that character flaw currently :)

  7. Girl, I feel you on the traffic thing. I turn into the most impatient person ever sitting in traffic. And we have the worst traffic. And totally with you on the rice thing too.

  8. Minute rice for the win!! That's the only rice I make. Lol. My hubby reloads the dishwasher after I do it, too, I guess it's a guy thing! Lol

  9. Ahhhh the good old dishwasher 'fight" that is something that we dont always see eye to eye on in our house too. Typically though I am the one loading and unloading so it's not that big of a deal and if and when Mr. Big Truck does put stuff in it if I have to I will just move things around. Ha!

Also I am right there with you on the worlds worst packer! SO.BAD!

  11. I would never want to be in the same car with you because I am the EXACT same way. lol
I used to hate the way Pete loaded AND unloaded the dishwasher. Then I realized at least I didn't have to do it myself. :)

  12. I agree with Alana - I can only handle minute rice, too! And sewing. Can't do it. I've tried but just can't figure it out for the life of me. Nick actually learned instead, ha!

  13. We are about two loads of dishes away from adopting that same "You load, I'll unload" method. He's all about packing it with the most things in the best way, I'm all about packing it with fewer things so all the things get a really great wash. There's no right way but it's not worth the 5 seconds of stress over the struggle.

  14. Thats really sweet about not being able to kiss your hubby only once. Not a bad thing at all ;)

  15. Bahaha. I still laugh at you and your road rage. You and Eric ;)
Yes! Thank HEAVENS for rice cookers!
I was such an over packer until we had Mia. Of course we packed everything plus the kitchen sink (make that bathroom sink) when she was born but we always ran out of room in the car, AH! ha ha! I've since learned to pack just exactly what we need. Although I'm sure I'll turn into an over packer again for a minute after baby boy is here!

  16. UGH traffic is the WORST. I'm notorious for overpacking, I just can't help it! I need all the things when I travel. Even if I don't end up using everything, it's the security of knowing it's there if I need it!

  18. Ugh traffic is the worst... all the rage! And it makes it so much worse that there is absolutely nothing you can do about it. And why do the husbands look so cute in bed in the morning? I always tell mine he's the cutest while sleeping, kind of like a puppy lol :-P

  19. I am horrible when it comes to sewing, I can sew a button (not very well lol) that's about it.

  20. i am so bad at sewing! i am trying so hard to get better though, i just bought some fabric and am hoping to make something this month, fingers crossed.
i used to suck at rice as well! now i'm pretty awesome at it. the only reason i got better was because our rice cooker broke lol

  21. Haha I'm with you. I walk around the store with a list in my hand and hardly look at it. Meanwhile, I end up with tons of crap I didn't need and half the stuff I did. Cute to read :)

  22. I am so with you on the traffic and the packing!

  23. I want to improve my sewing too! I'm actually okay at it (I made all our Christmas stockings & have made Liam's Halloween costume every year), but I wish I could do much more! Lucky for Conor is actually amazing on the sewing machine (his mom made him fix things himself), so he helps me hem jeans, etc...

  24. We have the same issue, if you could call it that, haha, with loading the dishwasher-- I swear I can fit at least 3x more than how he loads it ;) And yessss to traffic- I sometimes feel like it's impossible to remain calm.

  25. You can't give too many kisses!

  26. sticking to the list in the grocery store has never been possible for me. lol Oh and the same thing with overpacking...it's almost ridiculous how much I overpack. The husband just rolls his eyes. haha
