I hope your week has been great and you're ready for a fun weekend. I can't wait for Saturday and have been rushing around all week to try and get prepped for a pretty fabulous few days. It could be super epic.
Anyway, the weather, the cold [brrr] and the busy have kept me from really getting posts written as usual so I don't have my normal Friday post. I had my computer pulled up last night at home and was looking at a blank screen while a TV show played on in the background when Le Husband asked "What are you doing?" I said "I don't have a post for tomorrow…" and he just said "So what?"
Now, I know that may sound flippant, but that wasn't what I heard. It struck me that I don't HAVE to put a post together for tomorrow [today] if I don't have one. There doesn't need to be a struggle or time spent on a computer instead of just being with Le Husband. I'm not on a schedule and it's not my job, it's a fun hobby that I love.
So, today I'm writing a post in the morning and not worrying about scheduling. Life has continued on it's Mach Bazillion schedule and I honestly haven't made the time to figure out my posting schedule. Where I used to stress about it, I am choosing not to now. I'll have a fun recap next week and hopefully will get some Alaska posts finished to finally share, too.
Until then, have a fabulous day and weekend. Live the life you love, precious ladies!
I get obsessed about posting sometimes too, then I sit back and remember I don't HAVE to do it, I do it because I love it - so, if I don't have anything for a couple days, so what? Men are so insightful sometimes. (Even when they drive you bananas!). And that saying above. Ugh, just LOVE it. (Pretty much anything Kate Spade I am obsessed with though... lol). Have a good weekend!!
ReplyDeleteI totally get this! I feel like I have to be on a schedule...but I don't like post things just to post them either. I hope you have an amazing weekend! Stay warm! :)
ReplyDeleteDefinitely understand the feeling of needing to post - but I just have to remember it's not a full time job, it's a hobby! Have a wonderful weekend!!
ReplyDeletei struggle with not posting sometimes..love the reminder of "so what"
ReplyDeleteyep. life will go on :) happy friday!
I struggle with the same thing. But at the start of this year I decide not to. Don't stress, it causes wrinkles! haha! Have a wonderful weekend.
ReplyDeleteSee? It's just nice to disconnect sometimes- your hubs is right! Love the KS quote and cheers to the weekend! Hope it is fabulous for you both! xoxo
ReplyDeleteHaha - love that!!!! You (and the hubby) are right, so what?!! Good for you lady, enjoy your weekend! XO
ReplyDeleteSometimes we all need a little break! Earlier this week, I was stressing about not having the giveaway post I published yesterday up earlier. But, then I calmed down and realized that it really wasn't so important after all. Blogging is something we do because we enjoy it. If we don't enjoy it any longer, we might as well not do it, right? So do what you gotta do to keep that flame burning, sweet friend! Happy Friday:)
ReplyDeletethe liberation you feel when you let go of blogging schedules etc is amazing! it makes blogging enjoyable again :) (at least for me it did!)
ReplyDeleteSome weeks just get too busy and that's totally okay! After all this is supposed to be fun :) Hope you have a wonderful weekend, and I love that Kate Spade quote!
ReplyDeleteSometimes not posting stresses me out but I have learned that 3-4 days a week of blogging is more than enough for me. :)
ReplyDeleteThere are many a day I just say, "You know what? I've got nothing!" and walk away from the computer :) Nothing wrong with that girl! Enjoy your weekend!!
ReplyDeleteEvery time I feel guilty about not having a post I have to remind myself I'm doing this for fun....and stressing over it is not fun!
ReplyDeleteLove that we don't have to, but when we want to we can! I go through phases with scheduling. Right now, I'm just so inspired that I want to make sure I get everything down and not miss a day since I'll have to re-work my posts, lol. Glad you got to spend the time focusing on you and le husband!
ReplyDeleteSome days, post just don't happen - not a biggie :)
ReplyDeleteEnjoy the weekend
I hear ya lady! It can be a bit stressful trying to always keep up but taking a break is good sometimes too! Happy Friday!
ReplyDeletei used to stay up late to get my posts done.. ugh nobody got time for that now! i normally have at least 1 weeks posts scheduled but if i dont, i really don't care, you know? as soon as it becomes a chore or a job, not fun -whats the point?
ReplyDeleteSomething about a new year is stressing me with getting posts put together! You do it when you can do it though. Cheers to the weekend :)
ReplyDeletei totally have days like that too!! dont worry about it and enjoy your weekend! xo jillian - cornflake dreams
ReplyDeleteGosh do I feel ya! I always feel stressed if I don't have a post ready for the next day! Sometimes you just need to forget it and enjoy some quality time with the husband! <3 Love this post!
ReplyDeleteHe's right, you don't have to do anything :) Enjoy some time! Happy weekend!
ReplyDeleteYou are so right, girl! So what! You rock! Enjoy your weekend. That Kate Spade quote is also my favorite. xo
ReplyDeleteThis is something I'm learning too. And I didn't have a Friday post for the same reason. Thursday was a long day and I just wanted to do nothing Thursday night. So I did.
ReplyDeleteSometimes I have to schedule because I don't want to post immediately after one. But unlike before when I was starting on my blog, I don't post just so I've got something to post.
ReplyDeleteI hope you have a lovely weekend.
your husband was totally right. If you dont have a post done... so what?
ReplyDeleteAnd now I need champagne & pizza! Hope you had a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteGreat post and advice, sweet friend!
ReplyDeleteI swear, I do the same thing all the time. I have the screen pulled up to type a blog post, but nothing comes to mind haha. #bloggerprobz
ReplyDeleteI hope you had a great weekend and you aren't getting stuck in this freezing rain!
ReplyDeleteOooooh the suspense!! I can't wait to hear how your weekend was!
ReplyDeleteWhat a good reminder that blogging is just a hobby! We put expectations on ourselves that no one else really does! Life is going to be super crazy for us in the next 4 weeks so I need to remember that it's OKAY if I don't have the time to pump out 5 posts a week!
Pretty sure that Kate Spade quote is my new favorite thing.
ReplyDeleteI can relate to this so much lately! I'll have a post ready or almost ready and not really love it-- but feel like I need something to go up. Instead I've been just leaving it in my drafts and if I feel like writing it or adding pictures later I'll post it, if not it's not that big of a deal.
