This weekend was Le Husband's birthday weekend and it was the perfect mix of celebration, down time, get after it time, family time, friend time and fun time. We hadn't really planned much and as usual just flew by the seat of our pants, but it suited Le Husband so it was perfect.
This weekend I learned…
Birthday dinner with the family is such a fun night. Despite the look on Mr. I Won't Smile Face ;)!
Being honest about feeling really tired is important because a bad attitude isn't any fun.
Diners, Drive ins and Dives can change our whole food outlook for the weekend.
Le Husband likes to try new recipes and I'm often just along for the ride.
Noodle attachments for Kitchen Aids AREN'T cheap.
Staging food pictures can be a lot of fun and home made spaghetti sauce is SUPER easy in the Ninja!
Non hand crank noodle rollers are my JAM! #easypeasy
Fettucinni noodles are easier to make than spagetti noodles. #nexttimewewilltryspagetti
A decorative piece can double as a noodle hanger in a pinch.
Homemade noodles taste a bazillion times better than store bought noodles.
I have memorized the recipe for homemade meatballs. #winning
A homemade birthday dinner is more delicious and satisfying than a fancy dinner out. #oldpeople
Bowling and wine makes for a 142 point game by yours truly.
Smoky pictures still turn out cute.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, MY LOVE!!! |
Purging and organizing makes for a happier [and prettier] home.
Laundry is easier to do in small chunks instead of all at once.
Chili and football is better with my BOFF. I miss you, lady! #soulmates
Planning a fun surprise for family automatically has them thinking babies. #notprego

ReplyDeleteHappy birthday to your husband!! Your homemade pasta looks so delicious!!
ReplyDeleteThat pasta looks incredible! We have made homemade pasta with my family before, and it was so tricky/time consuming, but the fresh pasta was definitely worth it in the end. Also, love that you mentioned that laundry is easier to do in small chunks instead of all at once...last semester I never seemed to do laundry, but when I did, it would be an all day affair! Since I've been back this semester, I have done a few smaller loads throughout the week, and it was surprisingly easier! Glad you had a good weekend!
ReplyDeleteThat pasta looks amazing! Even more so because it's homemade!
