Yes, I'm Happy 99.9% of the Time

At the beginning of the month I came across Kerri's blog and this post just spoke to me. I began reading it and just found myself nodding, yes, yes, yes!!!!! So, I thought I'd share it with y'all and offer my take on my happiness.

I am an insanely happy person. For real. No lies. No gimmick. No fakey. I am H A P P Y! It's not a front I put on in public while being a debbie downer in real life. I don't just put the happy out there because I want people to think more or better of me. Nope, I'm just happy and I don't really care who knows it.

Life may never be perfect, but mine is pretty flipping great most of the time. Sure I have down days, everyone does, but overall I'm happy. I'm that annoying girl that says 'GOOOOD MOOOORNING' to my coworkers every day or who smiles at strangers just because.

I confess I'm happy because...

... there are sprinkles and cupcakes in life.

... it's springtime and that means summer is right around the corner.

... my body is healthy enough to allow me to try new fitness routines and new sports.

... I live in a free country that allows me to share my opinion without fear of persecution.

... kickball brought me the love of my life and some amazing friendships

... wine. Just give me all the wine.

... I have a job, a car, a roof over my head and never have to worry about my next meal.

... music. When I'm feeling happy, sad, overwhelmed or over joyed music is there to make it better.

… new baby smells and the gift of children.

... we currently reside in a state that experiences all four seasons.

... my family is incredibly and insanely amazing. They support me, they love me, they spoil me and they are the most fantastical people in the world.

... no one in my family is terminally sick or struggling with health care issues. #soblessed.

... I can afford to go on multiple fun vacations throughout the year.

... my friends both in blog land and in real life are kickass awesome. #noneedfordrama

... there are iced lattes on warm summer days.

... I've found my Mr. Forever. #cheesballiknowbutitsthetruth

What makes you happy?!?!?!

  5. this is so amazing! i really do think that while there are some things we can't control, we are ultimately the creators of our own (un)happiness. choose to do things/think in a positive light and you will be happy.

  6. You know how much I love this post girl! Being happy what a concept right?? There are so many everyday things that we have that are just a given and those aren't for a lot of people. Plus when you have a hot and amazing hubby plus sprinkles with cupcakes....life is pretty darn good ;-)

  8. If only everyone could have this kind of positive attitude. Being happy is a choice and I think that's an easy decision to make.

  9. LOVE THIS!! I think a big part of being happy is a choice, everyone has hard things in life but you choose to either focus on the good things (like you do!) or the bad, and that makes such a HUGE difference in your outlook and attitude!

  12. I love this and I love you! I have made a dear friend here in AZ who is alwaaaaaaays so happy and positive! And the kicker is that she has got some serious chronic pain going on...from her hips into her lady parts that continues down her legs and makes it so that she can hardly walk. They have spent months and thousands doing testing, etc trying to figure out what's wrong. And that sweet girl does it all with a smile on her face! Then her 2 year old ended up in the hospital from a serious asthma, allergy attack that could have killed the little doll! I called my friend to check on them and she was so sweet and cheery telling me how grateful she was for nebulizers and modern day medicine because this surely would have killed her daughter if not for these things. And she was so grateful for insurance because their hopsital stay, no longer how long they were admitted, would only cost $1000!
Umm... WHAT!? I would NOT have been looking at it that way! I am a pretty happy person but at that point, I would have been so angry and asking "why me?!" and so bitter about all the money spent, etc. At least I think I would feel that way. Did I mention that my friend had colonoscopy and endoscopy prodcedures done the day before her daughter was admitted? Yeah!! But she CHOOSES to be happy! And life truly is that much sweeter for her despite EVERYTHING she's going through now, and has been going through for the past however many months. I'm grateful for her example... happiness really is the way to go!
P.S. New baby smell... mmmmm! Can't believe I get that back in my house in a few months!
    LOVE YOU!

  21. It's the little things, the big things, and the things we take for granted that can all make us happy if we choose to overlook a lot of the negative. And YES to the wine bahah. So much goodness :)

  22. This is so sweet! There really is so much to be happy and thankful for in this life - we just have to look around and actually acknowledge it! I'm always thankful for cupcakes and wine, too ;)

  23. I absolutely love this post and your attitude girly! i am not naturally a very positive or happy person so it's taken me several years to learn how to appreciate life and be happy with what i've got - i constantly remind myself why i'm happy and that really helps :) right now i'm happy because i'm about to submit my green card renewal app and it's costing me $600... but that means i get to live in the same country as my Mr Forever, so I'll take it ;)

  24. Great post! I am a happy person too. It amazes me why some people choose not to be. Life is so much better when you smile and have a positive attitude. :) Life itself is a blessing and something we should be thankful for everyday, so there is no reason to frown.

  27. I love this post! although I do struggle with depression, I would say I'm a generally very happy person (weird, right?) I know people think I'm goofy or fake because I wear bright colored pants and tap dance in times of stress (yes.. really, ha!). Really, I just am TRULY happy most days!
