Happy Epiphany Monday friends!
Today is a good day, as the wise men have finally ended their long journey
to visit the babe in a manger, fulfilling the Christmas prophecy.
Welcome, you amazing THREE KINGS!

Our first weekend of the new year was a very good one indeed.
We started Friday off with a very snowy morning, but things went about as normal for us. We skipped morning workouts, but were able to enjoy or Friday night date at the gym. It was more crowded than normal of course, but unlike everyone else, I'm rooting for the January First people. Everyone deserves to be healthy, and even though more people means a longer weight for some workouts, I'm happy that more people are trying to live a better life.
After we got home, we enjoyed a delicious meal C created all himself. Yum!
It was a late Friday night, as we stayed up to watch Ohio State play in the Orange Bowl. I might have fallen asleep a few times throughout the game, but y'all I was tired. Sadly, the team lost but it was a pretty incredible football game.
Saturday morning we were up an moving early, as we were expecting our art dealer to arrive with our new painting. Yes, I said art dealer. Through random happenstance after the Christmas holiday, C and I found ourselves in a beautiful art gallery with our family and saw this beautiful painting by Tom Everheart. He isn't just an amazing artist, but he is the only artist licensed to paint the Charles Shultz "Peanut" characters.
I'm not sure if I've mentioned it here, but C grew up loving the Peanuts characters
as did my family. So we have a few Peanuts decor around the house
and often get them for Christmas gifts.
When we saw this painting we both wanted it, but had to think about it,
as it was not cheap in the least.
We took our time and after four days of deciding, we bought the painting.
Our dealer offered to come hang it for us, which was awesome since it's
such a large painting and not something you want to mess up.
He was here with another dealer and we enjoyed learning more about art
as they hung the painting over our sofa.
sorry for the glare, will have to try during the day for a better picture. |
Isn't it amazing?!?!
While they were here, they also helped us re-hang some of our other paintings. I had no idea all the lil nuances that were involved with hanging pictures. It's an art in itself :)
The rest of Saturday was spent putting away Christmas, sad trombone and just cleaning the apartment. While I'm sad the decor is gone, I'm really happy with how clean and open our apartment looks now.
Sunday morning was Epiphany Sunday which was a great service.
After church, I came home and did a quick workout before it was time
to enjoy hours of football and reading.
I capped off the weekend with prepping food for the week
and a late evening soccer game.
All in all, a great start to 2014.
