Oh What A Weekend It Was...

After my engagement weekend,
this weekend is probably my favoritest ever!

Saturday I went to my
FIRST Wedding Dress Appointment
and it was SOOOO FABULOUS!

I woke up BRIGHT and EARLY Saturday morning
and literally was skipping around my apartment getting ready.

Le Fiance made me breakfast but I was soooo giddy
I barely ate anything. [thanks though honey]!

Once I was beautified, I prepped the mimosa
water bottle and coffee mug.
Yup, I snuck mimosa's to the store,
hey, it's a celebration kids!

We had one of the first appointments of the morning,
but David's Bridal was hopping when we arrived.

That worked out well though, because the extra wait time
allowed us to browse gowns and pick out ones for me to try.

I must mention I only picked out two gowns, everything else
was selected by my fabulous consultant Karen and my posse.

My heart was set on trying on DB's version of the Kate Middelton
bridal gown, but they discontinued it so I wasn't able to.

I was pretty bummed, but didn't let that phase me too much.

We started with straight column gowns, then moved to
mermaids, varying in size, then to Alines and finally
one ball gown aka princess dress.

A few facts I learned on Saturday:
*I was shocked to find almost EVERY dress I tried on
looked good and really flattered my figure.

*Surprisingly the Aline gowns did NOT flatter me
as much as expected, and even though
the BALL gown looked amazing, it was a little young.

*CRAZY RIGHT?!?! I always thought
BIG BALLGOWN was the way to go,
but actually, with my petitie figure
the MERMAID style looked the best.

*Also, I had mentioned how much I wanted sleeves,
but there was something about a sweetheart neckline
that gave me more curves, which I LOVED.

*I always imagined getting married in a stark white dress,
because I wanted that tradition and thought ivory was such
a NONO! Well guess what, stark white is NOT the way to
go for this girl. We stuck with soft whites and ivories.
[btw, ivory still looks white]

David's Bridal is a wonderful place to go, to try on various
gowns because they have a great selection.
ANNNNNNND, the also let you take pictures,
which was extremly helpful.

Oh, did I mention I MAY HAVE FOUND
THE ONE!?!?!?!

Yep, and it is 100% not what I expected to be,
in the least.
Part of me wants to share,
but I really want to keep the final look a surpise.
I'll share a few snips though.

Standing in a wedding dress, with a veil
was an extremly surreal experience.

It's actually happen y'all woohoo!

L-R: Super fun poofy dress, mimosa fun, loved this lacy back and my beautiful posse!

My posse was so much fun. Babyspice made cards for rating the dresess
and everyone was so sweet and funny.
One of them even cried when I tried on the 'possible it' dress.
I enjoyed having people give me their opinions,
it helped when I couldn't say no, when I needed to say no.

I couldn't have imagined a better first appointment,
[minus missing one of my BMs]
it was everything and more than I expected.

After the shopping extravaganza, I was wiped, but
really wanted to enjoy the beautiful 60 degree weather.

So, I called BabySpice and she came up to my place,
and we decided to walk to the AirForce memorial
right near the Pentagon.

The total walk was about 1.5 miles, and it was
JUST the right amount of active rest
for both of us.

The memorial is very simple, but super moving.
I was just waiting for the laser to shoot out
from the tops of the towers.

If you're ever in the area, come check it out!
[text me first for a BLATE]

The rest of the weekend was spent going to church,
playing soccer, chilling out, losing and hour [drat]
and wedding budgeting.

Soooooooooo yeah, is it time to go
wedding dress trying on again?!!?

Today I''m also linking up with one of my faves,
Mrs. Janna.
Perception Is Everything

I'm trying to keep monthly goals and I think this weekly check list
will help me achieve all of them.

This week I actually accomplished a few things on my list:

1] I am ALMOST finished with my BM/MOH gifts.
I'm just waiting on an etsy vendor to finish something
and then they all are GOOD TO GO!

2] I actually did three nice things for le Fiance last week
and I'm very happy with the outcome.

3] I've written down ALL the things I THINK I need
for my wedding, but want to check with websites
to make sure I haven't forgotten anything.

All in all I'd say the first week of March was pretty successful!

GOOD LUCK TO ALL OF YOU and your GOALS!

ROCK IT OUT LADIES!

  6. sounds like a fun weekend!!! Dress shopping was so fun! I think we are a lot alike because I totally thought I'd want the princess ballroom gown but it didn't really work for me, the modified a-line/mermaid type worked much better. and I loved the sweetheart neckline too! Can't wait to see what you pick out!
