On Fridays We Link Up

[addlinkhere]

LC's Engagement and Ring - I'm not sure if you missed it, like I missed it, but our Laguna Beach/Hills girl has gotten ENGAGED y'all! Last week LC [I know she hates that nickname, but sorry girl, it's how we 'met' you] posted a ring picture on her website, along with a story about her engagement. I'm happy she found someone, as stupid as this sounds, I've been rooting for her in the love department, she always seemed to get SOOO close and then it fell apart. But, now she's got the man and the ring woohoo! Speaking of the ring, I have to say I gave C a pat on the back after I saw her picture, since her ring looks pretty similar to mine [minus the two carat rock part, holy ginormous batman]. Homeboy was ahead of the engagement ring fashion curve and didn't even know it, well done husband!

Falling Temps - FALL/WINTER is finally here in the DC/Metro area....darn! Itttttttttttt's freeeezing! Okay, no it's not, I'm being a wuss, but we know I don't like cold. And y'all it is definelty cold. The kind of cold that cars have to be started and warmed up before driven, cold. BOOCARD! Falling temps don't just bring cold, they also bring the lovely wardrobe swap weekend, le sigh. Time to pack away the tanks, short skirts, summer dresses and flips, for sweaters, sweatshirts and boots......WAH!

Thank You Notes - The wedding has been over for a month and I'm STILL writing thank you notes. GAH, I don't ever see an end in sight. Our friends and family were extremely generous and I want to make sure everyone understands how thankful we are for their gift and their presence at our wedding. I'm trying to aspect a of a few a day to chop down the list, but I might do a marathon session one day this weekend. I know technically we get a year, but I REALLY want to get them all done before Thanksgiving. I don't think it's right to send Christmas cards before people receive thank you notes, so that's my goal for October/November.

Morning Workouts - They are COMING back y'all....next week to be exact. You've heard me mention before how Le Husband and I have gotten off the mega workout train since the wedding. We kicked MAJOR tail the months leading up to the wedding, but once the 'week of' hit there were more important things going on than hitting the gym. We've stayed in in that lull since W-day and honestly I've loved it and am grateful Le Husband agreed to just enjoy life with me. We ate what we wanted, worked out if we wanted and just ENJOYED life together doing nothing. However, now it's time to get back in action. The summer body is built in the fall/winter and I'm determined to get back into the shape I was pre-wedding, and better.

Domestic Diva Status - Now let's be clear, I'm not trying to sound like a braggart, I'm just extremly proud of my domestic divaness the past two weeks. Honestly, I have no idea where it came from, but in the last two weeks I've been all about domesticity and having a clean apartment. Mind you there are still some boxes and things around, but I've been adamant about a clean kitchen, well stocked fridge and laundry. This may sound anti-feminist, but I've ENJOYED embracing the 'womanly' duties in the home and tending to Le Husband. Trust me, he's doing his share of things, but it's more fun taking care of someone that just taking care of myself right now. I'm sure that mindset will change in the future [haha], but today I choose to give myself a pat on the back for being a domestic diva :)!

  1. I enjoy being domestic every now and again too--I think moreso during the summer when I dont have work and other things to take up my time.
I was SUPER happy for Lauren too. Glad she finally found her perfect someone. We know how nice it is to find that person finally :)

  3. I'm not always proud of it but I am super domestic. I actually prance around the house calling myself a domestic goddess as I fold wash.

Is that weird we are afraid to yell that we are domestic?

    Happy Friday!

  4. Ill be up the am with you too! and nothing wrong with embracing our inner domestic selves. I loved to take care of M too and now I do with le guy in the form of cooking dinner. We can be both domestic and independent.

  5. There is absolutely nothing wrong with showing that you care for your husband by taking care of him! There's nothing anti-feminist about it - I say "Go girl!" In return, I know he is taking care of you too, so it's an equal exchange. And that's the way it should be. He's your King, you're his Queen!:)

Also, major props for getting back to your workout routine. I need to suck it up and get back to it too. Sigh.

  7. I love taking care of my family and home and ow that I stay home it's kind of my "job" to do it too. Sometimes it's not fun, but I always feel happiest in our home when everything is running smoothly.

We must have similar engagement rings because mine looks just like LCs too!! :) A bit smaller, but similar!

    Happy weekend!

  8. The temps are going down here too & I LOVE it!!

I was the same way about our Thank You cards! I have a few left that were gifts given later but, I just did not want such a daunting (b/c there were SO many) task on my to-do list forever so, I just got them done. Plus, like you, I hated the idea of sending them out sooo much later!

Matt & I are back on the workout/eating healthy train & it feels so good! We too took some (a lot) of time off after the wedding & it was amazing!! I think every new bride & groom needs that in order to regroup!

    Happy Friday chicka!!!

  9. When my fiancé and I first moved in together, I couldn't wait to be domestic! That quickly faded for me haha. And while I still love doing all the household chores, it just doesn't happen as often anymore. Oh well

I love LC! I'm happy for her.

    Have a good weekend!

  10. For some reason I thought that LC was already engaged. She worked on a issue of Martha Stewart Weddings prior to officially getting engaged which led me to believe her fiance had already popped the question. Anyways, her ring is adorable.

  15. Will asked me if I wanted to upgrade to the 2 karat last time we went home, and I said NO. That is too much bling for me at this juncture of my life. LC can have it! It's beautiful, but overwhelming {to me}!
