A {Lil} Bit of Thanks

Life can be messy. Things big and small happen and all of a sudden it seems to be one thing after another and then we're all down the dark rabbit hole. I have some friends experiencing the snowball effect and it breaks my heart [prayers and love to y'all, you know who you are < 3].  My life might not be 'all roses' but right now things are pretty even keel. So, today I'm taking a moment to give thanks for the little things in life that make me happy.

Just a lil bit of thanks for...

My foam roller. If I can't get a daily massage, this lil contraption is the next best thing. #hurtsogood.

Soft warm socks on my feetsies when I sleep.

Tents. Coolers. Ice. I would have melted on the turf playing soccer during a heat advisory this weekend without those three beautiful wonderful inventions. #dontbeuncool

Relaxing music on YouTube. Sometimes you need a lil zen at work.

Yummy scented perfumes that make me feel fresh and clean.

Fun pink leopard sun shades. Daddy bought them for me last year and Sassy looks so fierce while keeping cool.

Summer.

My body and all it allows me to do at my age. #gettingoldisntfunbutatleastimstillmoving

Make up wipes. When the heat melts the makeup off my face I'm always glad to have wipes to clean up quickly.

An active younger sister that makes soccer in the heat fun.

New friends from sports. I had a blast playing with a new team this weekend and am glad I said YES when asked.

Bed Buddy warming packs. My tired shoulders love this warming device.

What are your lil bits of thanks, today?

  7. First off, that picture is gorgeous! And i love this post. It's so easy to get caught up in the day to day of wanting things..etc. But I try to keep things in perspective every so often. I am certainly thankful for air conditioning and ice (for cold water) on these hot days. We take both for granted but some people don't have either.

  11. Awe, I love this sweet post! You always have such a thankful heart and I love it!
I think we all know how thankful you are for your body by how you take care of it. There's no wonder how you are still able to do so much with it by how you eat, workout, etc. I've been in awe with how much more my body is able to handle this pregnancy and how much less achy I am than with Mia, and I came to the conclusion yesterday that it's because I was in better shape when I got pregnant this time around than with Mia, and I've been working harder this time around (although I did do a good job working out with Mia's pregnancy as well) to keep working out. It's amazing how our bodies do what they need to do when we fuel them and keep building them- it's what they were made for!

Wow- what a spill, ha ha! This was just totally on my mind yesterday!

  12. It's always good to sit back & reflect on everything going right in your life every now & then. Especially when things seem to be going less than stellar. I hope that things turn around for your friends soon.

  22. Great things to be thankful for, especially make up wipes. Ha ha! I'm thankful for friends who make life away from family more homey, doctors who keep me and my children happy and healthy, a husband who makes me laugh through the tears and always know how to life me up, and s'mores!

  24. Trying hard to be thankful for the little things more and more lately, since life does have a habit of throwing curveballs once in a while. I think an attitude of thankfulness is one of the most important things a person can cultivate in life, and I definitely want my children to have that trait!
