4th, Family and Wedding Fun Weekend

Hello Americans, how are you?

Did you have a great 4th of July celebration?

I hope it was fun and not too crazy.

Not judging, but I never understand how
'LET'S CELEBRATE AMERIA = GET WASTEFACED!

Anyhoodle, as we did last year C & I traveled to
his hometown in Ohio to celebrate the 4th
with his family.

We left after work on Tuesday and drove halfway.

Wiiiiith a slight detour to the outlets.

Someone may have left with a bunch of new workout gear
and some other fun things.

We both were randomly up with the sun Weds morning
and hit the road early.

C needed to make another stop and I was
given my FIRST CABELA'S experience.
CABELA'S
Picture a Bass Pro Shop on steroids and you have Cabela's.

It was pretty awesome and we had fun
lollygagging around after he bought what he needed.

I was THIIIIIIS close to buying my Sig Sauer,
but with wedding stuff going on
decided I needed to save some money.

The rest of the drive was uneventful
and we were at his home quickly.

Everyone was still at work so we went ahead
and did a circuit workout before dinner.

Thursday we got ready for 4th of July fun
and spent the day hanging with BOTH sides
of his family to celebrate.

Unfortunately it was rainy and dreary so the
pool parties were put on hold.

Despite the rain, we all had a good time hanging out
and catching up with everyone.
The rain wasn't able to keep away the fireworks
and after enjoying them it was time for bed.

Friday morning we headed down to BonBonereie
for our cake tasting.

OH my word, it was so much fun and
there was SO MUCH CAKE!
Wedding Cake Fun

We were able to try five different flavors and they were delish.
Our indulgences were:
White Chocolate Raspberry Romance, Chocolate  & Coffee, Opera Cream, Caramel Salted Chocolate and Strawberries & Cream.

YUM YUM & YUM!

After we chose our flavors
[Opera Cream & White Chocolate Raspberry Romance]
we started designing our cake.

That's right, we created our OWN design
for our wedding cake.

NOW I KNOW why it was so hard to pick a picture,
our cake hasn't been created yet.

I'm super excited about our design
and how excited C was to help create the look.

It's going to be awesome and totally US!

After cake tasting we were able to spend some time
with C's godson, who is the cutest lil baby alive.
Babysitting Fun
Seriously, he is the sweetest lil boy and so much fun
to cuddle and play with. I miss him already.

Later that night we did a family dinner
and then called it an early night since everyone
was tired from the night before.

Saturday morning was up BRIGHT and early
to head to Finlay market
for some food shopping.
Finlay Market Fun
Despite the rain, it was a grand time and I loved
seeing all the fresh and delicious produce.
I even tried GETTA, which was pretty good.

After the market I took a QUICK nap
before we headed out to C's uncle & aunt's home
for our wedding shower.

They were so sweet to host a shower for us
and his aunt did these awesome pink decorations,
just for me.

While we waited for everyone to show up,
a couple of us went shooting. I shot C's weapon
and even though it's fun to shoot, I need to get my own.

Once shooting was done, we decided to grab
a quick CIRCUIT workout.

YES! A circuit workout, in the rain
AT A WEDDING SHOWER.

Only us....only us!
Wedding Shower Fun
Luckily I didn't get to nasty, and rinsed off in the pool
before the party really started.

There was so much delicious food and fun drinks,
and even though the sun never showed up, we all had a great time.

His family was so incredibly generous and gave us
such wonderfully thoughtful gifts.

His grandmother gave us crystal wedding flutes
that are absolutely gorgeous
and C got his Ninja cookware he really wanted.

Too soon it was getting dark and we had to
head home to pack since we were leaving on Sunday.

Our trip home wasn't too bad, until after lunch
where we hit some major traffic
and yep, you guessed it rain.

I will say, that even though it rained the entire weekend,
it never really rained on our parade. Everyone was able
to keep from whining and complaining which was awesome.
Sometimes things don't go the way you plan, but sour grapes
just ruins everything, so it's better to make lemonade. :)

All in all my 4th was fantastic and I enjoyed the
small vacation back to Ohio.

It's crazy to think that the next time I see everyone
WILL BE OUR WEDDING!

Weeeeeeeee!

One of the awesome things about the rain, was the lack of
needing to actually DO my hair.
I relied on an old school style I used to rock back in the day
and it work fabulously with everything.
Details coming in a post later this week.

Before I go, I'll leave you with one of my favorite quotes
from the wedding shower.
