Confessing What's New With Me

I confess...

|| it took all of my self control not to stare down the girl in the gym locker room who LEGIT checked herself out six times. In two different mirrors. I get making sure you look fresh walking into the gym, but six times, you planning on getting married tonight honey?

|| on Tuesday during my sports conditioning class I purposefully positioned myself next to one of the fitter guys in the class to push myself. I needed the extra challenge because my attitude was not the greatest heading into class and I wanted to concentrate on JUST fitness. I'm happy to report I did pretty awesome and saw him checking my form when I kept pace with him. #girlsarejustasgoodballa #sprintsarethebest #thanksfortheextrahustle

|| I feel like I have seniorities at work right now. Like suuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuriously I don't want to do anything. I've completed a few documents for the new person but ugh, so tedious and blah. Thank goodness I have access to blogs and youtube.#needthedistractionbreak

|| my tribe rocks. I love them dearly and am so blessed to have them in my life. Husbands are awesome but sometimes you just need your girl tribe to GET YOU when things get frustrating and UGH emotions.

|| after an extremely stressful packing week I took last night off to hang with the sissys. Well, I took a load to the storage unit then went to yoga with them, ate dinner and had a glass of wine while watching some sports on television. It was a fabulous Wednesday night indeed. #sissys #antondas #wcw #lovethem

|| there was a quiet shout of joy when I hit a headstand in yoga last night. I took a class with the sissys and didn't think I was quite at their level to actually make a headstand, but y'all I DID IT and it ROCKED.

|| I'm dropping this beat and this beat[oh hey 97 release] all day eeeeeeeerrrrrday on youtube. I need music to focus and this helps me rock out my to do list both at work and while packing up the apartment. #shemovingherbody

|| this week I bit the bullet and bought Tieks. I'm super hopeful they will be just what I need for Europe and they better last forever at their crazy price. Any Tiek owners out there have any issues?

What's New With You

What's new? Hmmmmmmmm, let me think. SIKE! If you remember last month I shared our super fantastical HUGE NEWS about our European trip and our move and holy crap, here we are a month later and it's go time. Like serious go time. Like, staying up until midnight packing up boxes go time. And it is stressing me out like whoa.

Part of me wants to stop this post here because it seems as though the last few posts have been the same thing over and over. I don't want to sound like a broken record or even worse, ungrateful for our new adventure. We chose this and I understand it's not always going to be peaches and cream super easy packing time. Trust me, I know.

However, at the crux of it all this blog is almost a living journal so I want to remember these moments, the good and the bad. The good up with me? My tribe is so so good. They have shown up in droves to help and are just a text away whenever I need them. The bad up with me? My stress level and emotions. Yesterday on my drive to the storage unit I flat out lost it y'all. I'm talking BWD [bawling while driving] and shouting at other drivers because they were pissing me off. The enormity of our adventure fully hit me and the realization of how much still left to do caused a minor freak out. A few quick texts to the BOFF and my faith sister had me feeling a lot better and then everything really calmed down after yoga sissy time.

I know being stressed right now is normal, so I'm choosing to acknowledge the stress and fear but now letting it float away. Time to concentrate on the now and the good and what I can do. It might not always be with a smile but it will get done. With a bottle glass of wine on the side. :)

So yeah, the move and Europe…the two things up with me. What's up with you?

Don't let the stress get to know I know it is a stressful time right now. Remember Philippians 4:6 Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.

    Praying for you sweet friend!

  7. Hnag in there just a couple more weeks. And always here for you. Husbands are dumb sometimes I understand. Glad the sissys could be there for you. And man if I even tried to get into a headstand position I would kill myself. let's be honest, my flexibility these days is slim to none.

  10. Moving stresses me out, too. I like planning for vacation and can be obsessive about details, like what if a polar gets in our way and the bicycles don't work and our shoes fall off. I ask my husband a million question and give him a bunch of options and let him make the final pick between the last couple things because it's stressful for me.

  12. I'd totally have senioritis. That is like what senioritis is made of right there in your life right now. LOL

Tieks look like they have no support to me so I have avoided them for my old lady feet.

  13. Im currently at work reading blogs - something I never do. I might have to try in my free time from now on because its serious so relaxing.

also congrats on the trip and move! Off to check out that post!

  14. I am jealous of your moving, quitting your job and traveling to Europe! I have Tieks and just sold a pair on Ebay. I do love them, however, I really don't think they are worth the price tag (Sorry!). They actually don't have a ton of support, but they are definitely comfortable for short walking trips & the nice thing they fold so you can easily put them into your cross body bag or back pack if you need to change. :)

  16. It's amazing to see how ridiculous people can act at the gym.

  22. I have been stressed lately as well. Traveling is a lot of work and very stressful, but I can't wait to read about your travels. It will be so much fun. And I have a pair of Tieks. They are pretty amazing. I can wear them all day. Whether it is during a work trip, running errands or chasing around toddlers, they are comfy. The price tag is rough, but I love mine!

  23. Moving is SO STRESSFUL, and then to be packing for a big trip along with that - girl, all of your feelings are understandable. Love the BWD, it's good to get it all out sometimes :) Will you still be blogging while you're gone or no?!

    ReplyDelete
  24. Moving can definitely be stressful - Caleb and I obviously love each other VERY much but we're always both so on edge while moving boxes, etc.! Causes so many silly irrational moments. I pray you guys can get it all done and that your stress levels stay low.

About the girl at the gym? That's the worst! Like, this isn't a beauty pageant!

  25. I SO wish I could do blogging & YouTube stuff during work so I'm kind of jealous. I mean, I suppose I could but then they'd check my history & probably fire me, haha. I am the same way when it comes to working out during a class with "fitter" people. There is one guy that is crazy in shape & always out does everything. It feels pretty good when I can keep up with him! Good luck with all of packing, moving & trip to Europe! :)

  26. LOL at the chick checking herself out 6 times...at a gym! Yay for Tieks, I don't have a pair, but have heard nothing but amazing things and you're right they should last forever with that pricetag. You'll have to report back after Europe. Eek I'm so excited for your EuroTrip, it's gonna be a blast. Oh girl, I have been getting emotional already and I still have 3 months...the other day my favorite patient at work came in and we just got to chatting and all of a sudden she just started tearing up saying how special I am to her and how much she's going to miss me :(, makes the whole thing harder, but I know it's gonna be good.

  27. Good job on the workouts and yoga headstand! I definitely feel your pain with the moving thing. So much to do so little time! I've never wanted to drink so badly! Gah.

  28. Oh you know... Just making sure Europe is ready for you!! ;). It's okay to be nervous, frustrated, scared, excited and more right now!! Own those feelings... because life would be pretty boring without them. ;)

  29. Killing it in the phys Ed department, lady! "You getting married tonight honey?" had me laugh out loud at my desk. YES thank goodness for blogs (and Buzzfeed!) on slow work days. Happy weekend and cheers to being so close to Europe and all that is next!
