First, THANK YOU for all your kind wishes and words. Seriously, y'all are the BESTEST! I can't tell you how much it means each of you still read and care, insert smiley face. I miss conversations here and I miss the supportive community. Y'all make me really wanna come back. Here's hoping, right? RIGHT?!
While I'm here, I guess I'll share a bit more about what we've been up to since February. My life has been consumed by work, teaching/practicing Les Mills classes and remodeling our townhouse. Le Husband has gone all Chipper Jones on me and I'm doing my best to jump in when [and where] I can. I HOPE to chronicle in a more DIY post, especially with the popcorn ceiling, but for now I thought it would be fun to share a summary of all the work going down.
We've been...
Removing popcorn ceilings...
We went with a dark accent wall and a light grey all around |
Completely redoing the fireplace...
I need to see the room with the dark accent wall! My husband has been wanting to do a black accent wall in our living room and it makes me nervous. I know it's just paint but...
ReplyDeleteYou guys are killing it with your townhouse. I LOVE what you did with the fireplace. Cannot wait to see the end product!
ReplyDeleteOh girl you are speaking my husbands love language LOL! Mike LOVES DIY stuff. Thrives off it actually. I can't wait to see all the before and afters! I love the dark accent wall with lighter walls we did that in the living room and our bedroom too! When you get a second email me your new address please :)
ReplyDeleteIts going to look amazing :) Love DIY projects!!!

Missed you around here girl!! Loving your new renovations on the house though!! That subway tile...love love love!! Also loving how you guys overhauled the fireplace, looks fab!
ReplyDeleteoh my goodness, you guys are doing so much! i love it. the popcorn ceilings looked intense. our old house had fabulous yellow walls as well, i was happy to see them go. nothing i like is 'on trend' either but i don't care. we are the ones that have to live in our homes!
ReplyDeleteLiving in chaos is so hard. Everything looks great though!
ReplyDeleteWho cares about trends - I only care about what I like.
Removing those popcorn ceilings is the worst! It gets to dusty but it's so nice when it's done.
ReplyDeleteIt's like you know exactly what's been on my mind about you lately!!! I can't wait to hear ALLLLL about it. Pick what you love... that's ALLLLLL that matters!
ReplyDeleteSounds like things are coming along despite the chaos! I love subway tile for kitchen backslashes (I may be biased) and the other specs you picked out sound lovely. Its exciting to customize your home to fit your style so I can't wait to see the final details.
ReplyDeleteOH man I feel ya on living like that, we did the same thing, and it was hard, but oh so worth it. Your hubby is super handy! That's awesome, can't wait to see more progress photos!
ReplyDeleteI'm so excited to see the finished products - its all going to be so beautiful!!!
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh, so much work but it's going to look amazing when it's done!!!
ReplyDeletenot sure where you are but look for places that are going out of business or stores that take out of business things and sell them for CHEAP or give them away for free...they sell EVERYTHING from light fixtures, switches, furniture...basically anything that can be moved out/taken off the walls, they will sell or give away.
ReplyDeletesame with places that take rentals from movie sets. it's pretty much brand new; they use them for a few scenes then get rid of them...these stores will take them (full sets or one-offs) and sell them for dirt cheap. we had a place like that here called Marty Millionaire and that store sold everything. we got our stools there for $40 each, when they should have been over $200 each!
You guys are rockstars with the remodeling! I'm loving the changes you made to the fireplace and can't wait to see everything once it's finished.
